I've been running 8 gen 2 strips per 240 driver. ill use a 240 for each half of the fixture some times ill use one on all 16 strips and they run really nice. it really all depends on how well the plants are you can run them from my experience 12 inches when I have 240 on all 16 strips, when I do 480 on them all I just do is bump it up to 24-30 inches and they respond fine maybe a lil def because of how much more light they get. hope I helped.

really depends on your growspace, open space or tent is one factor.
very rough rule of thumb, calculate the wattage your driver gives taken by 2.7 or what you think your ppfd per watt is and divide that on the area youre lightning.
so f.e 250W by 2.7 on one square meter is 675ppfd minus some losses avaiable to your plant.
if you have a iphone you can test the photone app, i know no other app giving realiable readings.
not sure how well their android version is, ppfd isnt easy to measure.

It ain't just for the pics. Mine are 2 to 5ft from the canopy depending how close the plants decide to grow. I think the closes the plants got was like 18-20"

What he said. You just gotta measure your intensity and go from there.

Oooh nice it's ppfd working time did wonder that haha. Will try decode the matrix for curiosity.

Well I have basicly I got 4ft x 4ft of led 2x 480w on dimmers so 900 ish watt total. 28 strips.
My room is 6.5x6.6.5FT With 12ft floor to ceiling but working scrog area is 6.5ft by 5ft with 1.1.5 ft i walk in N feed tank.

Got a sexy sativa dom to run who will stretch in the screen at least 30 cm arms hope the bxeB can cope with her deep penetrative needs haha

Is this a good comparisen being added that the umol is less by 0.2
2.49umol/J and 1178 PPF whilst only consuming 473 Watts, truly kick-ass results and as you can see this lamp really does produce a huge amount of light from a small amount of power, so much so, that you can swap out that single ended 1000 Watt HID lamp in your growroom, and directly replace it with an HLG 55O V2.
Due to its staggering performance, this 473watt bad boy can be used as a direct replacement for a 1000 watts of single-ended HID lighting. In fact, the HLG series LED grow lights currently outperforms a typical HID lamp, watt for watt, by a seriously impressive 90%.
And ofc I have double that wattage

  • Power: 240 – 500 Watts
  • Voltage Range: 90 – 277 VAC
  • Vegetative Footprint: 6 x 6ft – 3.34m2
  • Flowering Footprint: 4.5 x 4.5ft – 1.88m2
  • Recommended Height: 45 – 70cm
  • System Efficiency: 171 Lm / W
  • System PPF: 2 .49 umol / Joule
  • Total Output: 1178 PPF@473 Watts
So I would have 1178 X2 space is similar too ppfd 2314 ?

Chips 960w x 2.7 is 2592 but I don't know about the space math

if you have 500W at 2.5 umol youre having 1250ppfd on a sqaure meter.
if the area is 1.88 instead of 1 sqm, divide by 1250 by 1.88.
just got up head is still a bit rusty.

That's there light calc example buy am not far off really had same lumen p watt too.

I'm 960w over 32sqft or 3sqmeterror.
So that works out at 800- 864ppfd per square meter then eh at 2.5-2.7 umol.

Dang that's hitting bang on the money
