Butch's 1st Grow from seed. Grow Journal

Hey everyone this is Butch. This is my first journal. So here goes......First I am going to list my equipment.

Hydrofarm 250 watt MH internal ballast grow light

Gardeners Gold Organic soil mixture

50 inch oscillating/ionizing fan.

Digital Thermometer

Hygrometer

Air humidifier

1 gallon pots
rapid rooter cubes.

My grow room is a closet..in a studio apartment the dimensions are 3' wide x 6 feet tall x 4 feet deep.

The grow light is a horizontal lamp that I have suspended with chains that are hung on the hangar rack


On september 9 2008 i germinated my seeds by placing them in a wash cloth that was wetted with distilled, reverse osmosis water...i then placed the wash cloth in an open ziplock that was between two plates....that i then placed on a heating pad. I had 3/4 inch tails in 24 hours..........

I then placed my seedlings into Rapid Root Cubes........placed the humidity dome on top of them....and put the the assembly on top of a heating pad.....the heating pad was placed on low.....around 80 degrees approximately. by sunday september 14th 2008, I was able to plant 3 of the THC bomb seeds. The next day i was able to plant my unknown seedlings.

I am planning on growing 3 THC bomb plants. 2 Mazar x Afgan, and I have 4 of the unknown strain. Of course I am planning on having some males, so I know I will be weeding out a few . but it would tough for me to grow 9 plants...so im aiming for about six

I have a high constraint, so I will be force flowering when my plants are about a foot tall, and may have to institute some LST if they get too tall.


Has anyone grown the THC Bomb, or Mazar x Afghan strains???

this is the first pictures taken of my babies. they were just fed nutrients for the first time yesterday ........The nutrients I am using are organic Micro, grow and bloom nutes bought at my local hydro shop. i used 1/2 TSP in a gallon of water of nutrients just so that i wouldnt burn them just to start.


The first 4 pics are that of the THC bomb. the last one is a picture of the unknown strain. BTW i planted my mazarxafghan late.....so they are still rooting. hence the pics of just the two kinds. The camera is my cell phone which is why they suck.

So far I plan to use the 24 hours of light for vegetative state. Basically, Anytime you read my grow journal, and have had experiences that you think to yourself hey this guy might screw up........let me know.....I am most definitely not an expert, and I am up to learn something new every day. Does anyone here think that 18-6 or 20-4 is better? Why do you think that? I want info.............

I keep my light about 1.5 feet away from my plants as directed. and my fan diffuses the lights heat by blowing the air around the rooom.

Hey guys. So I had to replant my 3 plants that were in the 1 gallon container...as the roots outgrew it. So i planted in 3 gallon buckets here is a pic of how they look.

so today i figured i should probably take some pics.......i got some medical clones so they are in the pics as well. the tall ones.

I am puttin my babies on 12/12 tomorrow. Gona find me a couple.....hopefully just a couple males....and kill those bitches. then its all smooth sailin baby. here are the latest pics.

hey everybody. its day 5 of flowering. and i just sexed 2 females here are some pics of them.

I'm really hoping thatyou finish beore me because I wanna see how the flowering goes under a metal halide lamp. Did you take any clones?

i did take clones. only 2 have rooted. but i also have a purps clone, 2 african herbsman, and one candy clone. they are doing great.

Not that, inspires confidence. I'm using a 400mh on two 4 1/2" plants. I'm surprised that you experienced some burning, my lamp only keeps things about 5-10 degrees warmer, which may be what you had only mine are borderline outside. I couldn't agree with you more about pulling teeth for comments.
