Burping/curing

Cut Down my ladies at a 10 to 14 day dry. Trimmed and jarred. My question is The relative humidity is reading between 55 and 63%, On the jars that are 55% do I still burp for air exchange? Do not want to drop them out of curing zone. They smelled dank when I jarred them then when I burped them the hay smell was there.

So I should still burp even thoe they might fall out of curing zone
At 55rh it probably take more than a burp to fall out of cure zone. I have one plant curing at 60RH. Burped daily for a couple weeks. Started off little hay smell. Now stinky dank as all hell. Prob go to a once a week burp(O2 exchange). Other plant curing a week now at 55rh. I exchange O2(burp) for 2-3 min once daily. Still curing fine. Haven’t dropped below 55rh(after a week of once a day burp).

I get the hay smell sometimes I usually leave open In front of my dehumidifier overnight check the next day buds are a little dryer hay smell is gone and I seal her back up and burp again in a few days to check but yeah If your getting that smell it’s a moisture content

Yeah agree. Makes sense. My 60RH stuff went into cure a little hay smell. But returned to dank after 10 days burp. Still sits at 58/59rh. Just takes time to break down chlorophyll. But my 55rh stuff hay for a day or two. But with a daily burp it’s maintained 55rh

I'm only 5 days into jar and some are already reading 55% and that's what worries me
I jarred up at 55rh(second plant)exactly 7 days ago. Burped daily 5 min let’s say. Rh maintained at 55rh after a week. I’m really just looking at it like I’m exchanging the air as it breaks down chlorophyll. 3-5min exchange the O2 seal it back up. That 55rh might be curing a little slower than the 60RH stuff. But it’s curing and maintaining 55rh. Just my experience anyway.

You can throw a fan leaf in the jar for a few hours or while you burp them to add a little moisture cushion.
