Blueberry, 400w single seed, defoliation

Sprouted 2 seeds but am giving one away. The gf challenged me to see how much I can yield from a single plant in my 8 Sq ft tent.
Plant is blueberry, from Southern Oregon seed bank.
Seed is feminized.
Germinated in wet towels.
Spending its first 10 days in Black Gold seedling mix. Afterwards going into a single 7 gallon smart pot filled with Fox Farms ocean soil.

Lighting right now is 125 w CFL. I'll move to 400w HPS when I repot.

Four 6in. Clip fans, and 1 full size oscillating desk fan

8in, inline ipower ventilation fan.

Plan to top once as before. Plan to do major defoliation at week 4. Switch to flower at week 6, defoliate again at week 7. Then casually pick and pluck bigger fan leaves. The defoliation worked really well on the first grow. I got new growth at nodes similar to what I saw with LST training. New growth came back with trichomes and after the second big defoliation some of the fan leaves were just sticky with resin. Hope to see that again.

Good luck with the challenge.

I'm trying something different which is working well and want to suggest it to you since I use to transplant once during the plants entire life cycle. Try going from the solo cup to a one gallon for about two to three weeks and then the seven gallon pot. I've noticed better root development and faster growth compared to transplanting directly into the final pot. I grow in amended soil and use mycos each time I transplant. If you're not comfortable with transplanting, I do understand that. Took me awhile to get use to it.

I'm along for the ride to see how the blueberry grows and blooms!

Dropped the plant in a 7 gallon smart pot 10 days after it germinated. Setting in Fox Farms ocean soil. Hooked up the 400w hps. Its getting 50,000 lux according to my meter.

I'm going to keep using the wheeled planter pot holder. Kept the pot from sitting in drainage water. Also gave me enough clearance so that I can use a drain pump to dry out the drainage tray.

I guess I should have figured it out sooner but it looks like there may be a difference among sodium bulb manufacturers in the amount of par they make. Might pick up a fancy hps bulb.

3 weeks into veg. 1st defoliation. I did this about a week earlier than I planned because I couldn't get stakes planted for lst without bruising or accidentally clipping a bud site. It was super bushy.

Nodes are nice and tight. Vigorous growth. I think I should be able to take clones off it in 3 weeks.

I use a plastic water bottle with little holes poked in top. I like this rock idea tho. Keep up the good work. Subbed

Put up some metal shelves. Now I've got a separate cloning station. Those clones are under a 55 watt spiral CFL. The temperatures in the bedroom were too high, or the light too intense. But under this CFL they perked right up.

I'm going to be an official licensed medical grower. I'm going to split the flower tent into two sets of 5 plants. One set will be just starting to flower for 5 weeks, and the second set will be under the other thousand watt lamp for the last 5 weeks of flower. I have the 2 by 4 foot tent still set up and I'll use that for veg. With a separate cloning station, there should be a decent Perpetual grow system. Harvest 2 lbs every 5 weeks. That's the goal.

Before and after stripping leaves. It's week 4 of flower. It's about 3ft across, and 2ft tall. No pruning of undergrowth though it's driving me crazy not to. Just defoliation. If the bottom half turns airy and larfy then it's going to be used for coconut oil extraction. We'll see.

Put up 2, four ft, 54watt, t5 single bulb lamps. Agromax pure UV bulbs. Had them about 2.5 feet from top of canopy and on for about 8 hours.

It was too much too soon. On second day, about a couple hours in to light cycle noticed leaf tips curled on about 10% of leaves, edges of leaf curling up. Darker they normal color. Shut off one UV lamp entirely. Moved the other back to 3ft. Cut hours on to 4. I dint think I burned them to bad. A couple days and I'll post up a pic.
