Hey this could be a cool thread for all of us when we have issues. Just come back to this thread and maybe get help from others with more experience or who have been through it.

Maybe we can put up a list of what we use for emergencies when we have issues.

Obviously prevention should always be the most important.

Spider Mites - Azamax and or Mighty Wash (i think Azamax is better)

Powdery Mildew- Serenade (might switch to Green Cure if i ever get it again. easy to prevent if you can keep your rh% down)

Botanicare Cal Mag for calcium and magnesium deficiencies

Gnats and White Flies - Sticky traps and Hot Shot No Pest strips

I use predatory nematodes for gnat problems. Be careful with Hot Shot pest strips they carry nasty chemicals so use in veg not so much in flower.

Neem oil (the 100 % stuff) - spider mites

trying sand / bti / sticky traps right now for the fungus gnats... Have a few other tricks up my sleeve though if it doesn't go well

I'll keep you guys posted

Never dealt with root aphids. though I hear SNS 203 does a little work

The best thing I think for gnats is play sand, I cover the entire top layer with play sand and the gnats cant breathe or break through and the water still goes down easy.

For whiteflies, get a yellow floodlight, and put it in one of those clamp-on reflectors from Home Depot. They get pretty hot, but the reflectors are rated for that wattage. The whiteflies are attracted to the yellow, and die upon contact with the hot bulb.

It won't get rid of your whiteflies, but it will knock back their populations.

For spider mites: I alternate a weekly treatment of mighty wash by pnk industries and RO water with drops of tabasco, so far so good.
For fungus gnats: A new bag of play sand from HD and a cup of balsamic vinegar in the tent (smells pretty rough BUT it gets rid of the critters)

just remember you probably wont get rid of bugs but rather you can control there populations... under 2% is usually super safe.

After a recent white fly increase, I used a Big Blue ozone generator mated it to an inline fan for an hour and totally killed every bacteria, bug, bug's eggs and odor left in my grow space. Smells like a nice rain now...but WTF it rained here due to the early monsoon. It will need to be hooked back into the exhaust soon for odor control. Has anybody tried the ozone generators that are less aggressive that keep bugs/odor in control while keeping your plants alive? (CAP-1, Ozoneair ect)...ozone does kill plants too if levels are too strong.
I used to have an outdoor bug killer with a black light in it that zapped bugs with high voltage....I might get a small one and try it if these freakin white fly's keep getting in my well closed space.

I'm the ole-timer in the crowd and totally new at growing (started last may when I got my card). Of course i've done every newbee mistake you can imagine: too much heat, white flies, fungas gnats and powerderly mildew. I've bought Neem oil, ProTek, and 10 or 15 other cures that the hydro shops sold me. Finally found an organic treatment that prevents and/or gets rid of all the above. I bought a one gallon sprayer at Lowes that gives me a good mist and the ability to spray the bottom of the plants. I use Stylet-oil and have been for a few months. Nothing but nice healthy plants and it works for babies to flowering plants.

Thought I'd add that my fungus gnat problem has cut down tremendously.

Alcohol / water works great to kill fungus gnats as well if you use it in as a spray as I did.. I have heard others using it in the soil itself but I didn't want to mess with that.

There used to be a handful of fungus gnats to greet me every time I opened the door... over the last day I have only seen 1 or 2 fliers in the whole room and the population on the sticky traps has remained constant.... Will update again when I get a chance to look under the layer of sand to see if the larvae are still present.
