Insulate the walls and floor to R-30
Start reading up on 'sealed growing environment', you will have to do this, if you want the headaches to go away and run efficient at the same time.
Most likely (depending on your ac size) you will not need to buy a bigger ac as long as you go the 'sealed room route.
Ha, I just noticed that you said "vent it out the back of the mylar", does that mean you do not have solid walls around your 'grow space' in the attic? If not, you have some work cut out for yourself...

That looks expensive lool
Ja, a grow space starts with walls lol, especially in a 'adverse' environment.
But you are right, it will most likely add up, an attic is just not a good place for this in the warmer climate zones.

Even with a window model ac on the floor, it wont bring temps down. It will keep the heat that you trying to exchange in the grow space, and pump it around the grow are and brought right back in. You need to vent it away from the space. A sealed grow are could be the option. Insulate it from the rest of the room to help prevent the heatEd air from going right back in.

So, here is the cheap option: Take a break during the summer. I'm serious, I live in southern cali, a lot of us here skip a grow during the hottest moths of the year ;)

I'm growing out side right now but I thought I would get a jump start on some indoor girls and let them finish together. What iI usually do is buy some girls about 24" tall and flip them in about a week
and then bud them for 2 months that way I get about 5 crops a year.+ what I get outdoors..

this thread was a fail from the start lol. Who, what..huh??? I dont get it??? LOL.

I will say 100% it can be done year round even with 105 heat index's for over 3 weeks straight.....83 degree top out. 850watt 1100 btu window unit a/c.... some very powerful inline fans. And a lot of imagination.
