Hello All,
This is my first Thread on Rollitup.org, i have been poking around reading into threads here and there on various topics i might need help with or that just interest me. A common theme im finding, are that question for information are met with an answer rather than unneeded virtual bashing.
For that i i commend your community and respect it greatly... now on to the thread!
Apartment Growers!
We are the Ginny pigs of this world as more often than not, we are stuck to the confines of our poorly designed, out dated and unchangeable walls we call Apartment wiring.
Where those who own or rent a house have the freedom to swap out to a 10g wire, from 120v-240v, 15amp -40amp breakers or runn there own box from the main!!!
We must pride our selves with the tricks of the trade to supplie our selves and our plants with the power we need (Safely!!!)
I have scowered the sight looking for ways to safely run a system within an apartment and while i find little threads here and there... there are still so many diferent ways to configure a room and draw power. With a little manipulation You can run a 400w, 600w and even a 1000w with accessories and get away with using your vacuum, TV, girl friends blow dryer ect.
But what about x2 1000w... x3?.. dare any one x4?
The quickest answer would be to take it from the dryer or the Dishwasher. that run 240v on a 30 or 40amp breaker.
But how much can it really take. ohms law, Voltage, Watts all can be mathematically explained but to the common man (Me) its still a little scary until i hear of some one who has done it and what they did exactly.. in lamens terms
Can i run my x3 1000W off the Dishwashers plug on a heavy duty extension cord less than 25ft and be "safe" to do so...
What all have you done to solve problems like this one?
What other problems have been stunting your "growth"
Hell in college we were running extension cords out the dorm room windows to jump breakers, I just want to see what has been done.
