Nice looking piece of equipment but way too big for my grows pace.the magnum XXL
I use 3 of these. They do a good job when it comes to cooling but the light distribution is shit.I use bare bulbs, but when I used hoods I had the same problem and never found anything that could match the bare bulbs. What kind of cool tubes do you have now? I'm going to build a few DIY cool tubes just to see what kind of light spread I get from them. They are only going to cost me about $30-$40 to make so I don't really care if they don't work out.
The Cool Tubes do a good enough job of getting rid of the heat. It's better light distribution I'm after.Just from my testing and personal thinking I think that the store bought cool tube's are decent but if you really want to get rid of as much heat as possable take a normal hood and put a nice 2" by 8" slot in the hood than mount forgot what they are actually called but they are made for heating and cooling ducts. But anyway you put one of those in there connected to your 4 or 6 inch exhaust setup and you WILL see a huge drop in temperature from the store bought cool tubes. The fan does not need to "suck" the hot air away any more it just naturally flows up so it goes up the vent whether the fan is off or on... Just something I did to lower my temp and they dropped around 11 degrees from a cool tube.
My thoughts exactly.the magnum XXL
You think only 2 x 600w is enough for 26 plants at 2.5' tall? You don't think that 13 plants per light is too many?I'd go with two 600W lights so you can get them closer to the plants and easier to keep cool.
