Air cooled vrs standard hoods in sealed room

What's up! Planning on building a completely sealed room in my garage and had a few questions regarding heat management and hood choice. Room will be roughly 16' x 8', with 2 1000 watt lights and ballasts inside (10' x 5' grow area). Planning on getting a 12,000 BTU mini-split to cool her down. Should I run air-cooled lights (ducting from inside of house-kind of a hassle) or just use standard hoods and pray the mini-split can keep up (with all of the other heat generating gear in the room), and keep the temp between 75-80 F?

No, I'm beginning to look myself. Starting the build on a new freestanding room/shed for my projects and I'm going to need a 24,000 btu mini-split myself.

I see that Amazon has a Pioneer 24,000 btu on sale for $1635.73 with free shipping. Sounds like a good deal, 4.5 star review. Looks like you have to use a licensed HVAC person to install it in order to receive the one year warranty (two years on compressor). I like the price and most of the reviews on this unit but I wish it had a little better warranty. I have a Diakin mini-split installed in our main living area this past summer and we love it. It was expensive but did come with a 12 year parts and labor warranty.

I found another unit on Amazon that's a install it yourself model. Mr Cool DIY 24k btu, $1199 on Amazon, warranty 7 years compressor and 5 years parts and it comes pre charged for home owner installation.

I'm going to keep looking... I need to educate myself on what's out on the market..

12k btu will do 2 lights no problem non aircooled . But if you choose to go 24k btu there are plenty out there for under 1500 bucks. I buy the cheap ass cool marts for a grand a piece . 15 seer and They seem To work fine, I have 3

Air coolinghoods is nice but they are made very cheap now a days and it is very hard to get them to not leak smell.
You have to tape the shit out of everything and then it becomes a pain to clean glass and bulbs

Yeah. I'm building basically a flat-roofed shed in the corner of my garage. A do-it-yourself mini-split would be nice. I was going to decorate the grow room like an extra bedroom before the electrician showed up (just in case).

Thanks Patrick. Being able to keep the entire setup sealed and quiet is what i was going for. Gotta nosy neighbor who basically lives outside (annoying as shi*). I was hoping if I go with a higher BTU system, i could go bare bulb with some cooling power to spare. If it starts getting too hot I can always switch to air cooled.
