Aerated Pots (Air-Pot)

I have no experience with it but I see it being no different as drilling a bunch of holes in a 5 gallon bucket. & You can forget transplanting it would have to be the final pot for the grow. But it looks cool.

If you wanted to recreate that exact design from a 5 gallon bucket just get a step down bit and heat it press it into the sides of the bucket over and over and it will make the same concaved indention like the air pot.
In fact I have all the tools at my house to do that I may give it a try just to see. I only have a damage 5 gallon bucket to lose. Step-Down-Drill-Bit-1-6967.jpg

I've been using air pots for years and I wouldn't use anything else. They are more money than the fabric pots but they last forever and they don't have to be raised off the floor - I prefer hard sided pots.

I start in the 1ltr air pot and transplant to the 9.2ltr air pot at 2 weeks. So the guy that says you can't transplant is wrong. You simply unwrap them. This is what the roots look like at 2 weeks from sprout in the 1ltr propagation air pot.

Those are nice pots but for the price of one I can buy five fabric pots. The only issue I have with those is the price. If you're willing to pay it's your money. But they are good pots.

Touche,
I did not know they were able to come apart.
I still thank you can achieve the same results for about 10 bucks and minor DIY. But I agree with the principle of it and I see how it can aid in root development

airpots are great. they are thinner now then when they originally hit the market. dont use the supplied screws, get zip ties.

from my past history with them, airpots naturally produce trees while smart pots of the same equivalent gallon produce bushes, i attribute that to design. airpots being taller & narrow compared the the wider smartpot

I’ve used them before and got fast explosive root growth, but didn’t have a control.

1 pain in the ass is watering them.

If you let them get too dry all the water just fires down the sides. Huge dry pockets of occur.

So I watered them and let them soak for a bit is what I use to do.

You can drill holes in a bucket but you’re not going to get as much air into the medium as these guys.
