greetings growers. i want to build my own flood and drain setup in an 8x4x6 growlab.
i want to use to garland trays(4x4 ft each) fill them with clay pellets and cultivate 6x6 plants (36 plants in one tray), i don`t want to use pots or net pots or anything, i just put rooted clones in the pellets. i want to know if this is a totaly bad ideea and why. i know the roots might tangle up but i don`t see how i can fill taller (than the tray) pots with a flood and drain system, and using 15cm tall pots would take alot of pots (and plants).
anyways i want to have the nutrient solution in the tanks aerated, measured at all times and chilled (when necesary).
the garland trays have 140L volume witch i will fill with clay pellets, i will use 1350l/h pumps for every tray.
i want to use 4 x 90L tanks interconnected at the bottom and chilled by a watter chiller that takes water from the first tank and drains-it in the last tank (this way i guess the watter will circulate through all tanks equaly, when i don`t need the chiller i can still use the pump to cycle water through the tanks for optimum mixing
the only other thing i want to use would be 2 air pumps with 4 air stones (one for each tank)
and of course a monitor in one of the tanks to know temperature, ec and ph at all times
( sorry for using the metric system i`m high and lazy (and from europe))
any sugestions, ideeas and especialy criticism is highly encouraged, thank you
