My wife took over the plant care duties while I was away for business, she over watered this one on monday of last week, the soil has dried out decently but its still droppy as hell. I stuck it in a new pot last night as I hadnt seen any positive results since I've been back. The growth has obviously stopped since the over watering but it really doesnt seem to be getting any better? See attached pics and let me know if I have a bigger problem on my hands other than the over watering please. Is there anything I can do to perk this plant up? Or should I just leave it and wait for it to sort itself out? All opinions welcome please guys! Thanks in advance

that plant looks thirsty.. the dirt looks bone dry. is the container very light to pick up?
poke your finger in up to your big knuckle.. is it moist or dry?

yes, droopy plants should be given less light.. raise it up a bit or put it in the shade a bit..
Lift up the container. Lift up the other ones.. How do they compare?
If this one is over-watered as you think, it should be the heaviest container you have.
overwatering doesn't happen really unless you leave them in standing water.
Did she let it dry out and droop to all hell before she "over-watered"? That would result in a lasting droop...

The pot is only slightly heavier than the others, thats cos its been drying out in the sun since tuesday. The reason I think its been overwatered is I'v noticed that the soil right at the bottom of the pot gets compacted and retains alot of moisture.
To be honest I dont think the pot was even that dry before it was watered. Anyway I've repotted it so far, I'm just a bit stuck between how long I should leave it before giving it some water. I dont want under watering to stress it even further

Sweet, I added some water last night and its a totally different plant this morning, really perked up and all. Noob question but whats the main differences to look for in a plant thats been overwatered to a plant thats needing it? Cos from what I saw, the appearance didnt change much from when it was over watered on monday. Thanks again guys
lol...let the soil dry out real nice, and yes out it in the shade for a few hours at a time. the only way to know for certain if it is over watered, is to let it dry out, and see what happens. if it still aint dry yet, and its been outside since teusday, then your soil musta been super wet. u have to let it dry out somewhat either way. best of luck

Glad it bounced back for you. Under watering is usually just a drooping effect and corrects it within the next couple hours after watering. Over watering is usually not a drooping effect but a yellowing at the tip of the leaves usually signifies the start of overwatering, unless you've nute burned, then it's that.
