5 Week Old Plant Growing Very Slowly

Hey guys, I have one going on 5 weeks now and she is coming along slowly. The seed was from some dank and looks great so far but is extremely small for 5 weeks. Looks more like 1 or 2 weeks. I did not know if the lights were enough to be growing it but from my research I think I have enough. I have 5 cfl's total at 173 watts and approx. 10,7500 lumens. Facts: -5 gallon pot -173 watts - cfl's -Jungle Growth soil -Ph'd water -2 fans in pretty big closet I transplanted it from a 1 gallon into the 5 gallon when it was about 4 weeks and I noticed the roots were starting to round on the outside so it was ready for a transplant. I thought it would start flourishing after that but has made little progress growth wise. It seems to be focusing a lot on root growth but she is still only 3 - 4 inches tall. What could be the prob???PICT2004.jpgPICT2005.jpgPICT2006.jpgDidn't realize how shitty my camera was!! God damn. But yes I know how crazy small it is for 5 weeks. My past experience has shown me this at 1 week really. Very frustrating but hope she starts picking up!!!

Damn bro sorry to hear that. Maybe you shocked her when you transplanted. Your lighting shouldnt be a problem. I have 100w CFL and its working great. Hope you plant gets better mate. :bigjoint:

Im not sure man but its my first grow and i stretched my plant, but i will fix when i re-pot it. mine is about that old aswell and i too got my seed from a bag. its about 1 ft. tall, maybe the seed you got was a dud or something.

Hi Perry :) i'm no expert at all but i've found whenever i've transplanted, the growth seems to stop for a while, i recall someone on here saying the growth takes place initially under the soil, new roots digging in and finding space etc. Give it time, i've seen one of mine explode into rapid growth after sitting there without change for well over a week....and as long as it doesn't instantly die you always have scope to tweak and try out possible solutions :peace:
My 12/12 girl is 10 weeks from seed and only 11" tall.
How many nodes has your plant grown?

Honestly its so small there's barely any. Just one really. It has the true leaves, first set of 3, and the set of 5 are coming in slowly. Posting pics now. I'm serious, she's 5 weeks.

how man sets of leaves do you have? Some pictures would be great. Is it bushy with a lot of leaves? or just a stem with the first fake set? Could just be a full indica thats growing really bushy

Oh I know its indica all the way. The shit I get from this guy is always in the indica family. Og, purp, master k, la confidential mainly..It basically has the first fake set. The first 3-set of leaves are small still but coming in and its working on the 5-set. Posted pics today

Man those are tiny for 5 weeks old....I would say maybe just a dud seed? IDK I guess just keep on growing it for a bit and see what happens. I would prob turn all lights off but 1...might be cooking it. do u have a therm. in there ?

How long have you been feeding it for? If you have been. You don't want to feed a little sprout like that till it gets to like it's second or third set of real leaves. It's def way small for 5 weeks.

I know man, very small. I haven't been feeding it yet. Was thinking about starting with a 1/4 strength. I hope it's not a dud seed. That's kinda what i'm thinkin but once it starts growing its growing, right?

Na I don't have a thermostat but I have 2 fans on each side doing a nice job ventilating. I don't think there is a drastic temperature change from lights on and off. I think it stays pretty consistent at about 75. The true leaves are turning yellow now and some of the small leaves are a little burnt at the tips. Just barely but I think it might be from the lights. 3 of the lights are an inch away and the other 2 are right on top. Gonna prob try and stretch them a bit further and see what happens. I feel like I should start feeding it though..?? Even though 5 weeks and tiny, the stem is quite strong.

I wouldn't feed them anything until they have at least 5 sets of real leaves. For a sprout that small humidity is also key, maybe try putting a dome over it. also u probably don't need nearly that many lights till it has more leaves. Yellow leaves with burnt tips in your case is prob. due to to much heat on them...

Yeah. Exactly what I was thinking. I went ahead and moved the lights away from it. About 5-6 inches away now. I had 2 fans in there, one directly on it so I didn't think heat was building up but I guess so. I also put a layer of aluminum foil all around the top. That's all I have for now but it seems to beam a good bit of light back to it. Also put a bowl of water in the closet so that should help with humidity. Thanks for the reply. I'll keep an update on her, hopefully she starts kicking in.

lol yea. Don't know when I'm gonna find another seed in this great bud. I gave all of mine to buddies cause I didn't think I'd actually be doing it. Gonna keep it going. Hopefully we'll eventually see dank buds and look back on this
