I'm one month from seed, would like some opinions on the health.

Lights are mars epistar 320 @ 2.5ft
350ppm using: canna Vega, calmagic, and rhizotonic.
Ph 6.1
Humidity 30%
Water steady at 68f, tent is 72f. Hard to get warmer in my basement when it's 0 outside!

On top, their doing pretty well. I see slight curl on edge of leaves, think I might have slightly been high on ppm (450), so I dropped to 350.

My question is how do my roots look!? They're turning a slight brown color. My water has a brown hue to it because of my ferts...could that be it? 2 of the 5 are pure white, 3 are this tan color....should I be worried?

If the fert changes the color o roots, it's called "root stain." If you notice that brown color is actually slimy, then you have algae. Looks good so far. Plants look like they will grow very short and bushy. I'd keep the light up as much as reasonable. Light get exponentially weaker as the distance gets greater, so just use your best judgment between plant stretch as it reaches for the light vs. a bulb so high that the light is weak at the plant.

Are you running a beneficial bacteria like hydroguard or anything to keep the res sterile?
The plants look pretty good right now, but the roots dont look that great imo.
While the color itself isn't necessarily an indicator of bad things, you dont want to see them clumping up like that. All of my healthy plants have grown their roots into a white "springy" ball first and then fill out from there.

This plant is a clone that's about a month from when it first started rooting. Currently running at 350ppm

Don't worry about the color so much as the texture, to a degree. You want them nice and firm and supporting their own weight. Limp noodles are no good. Use something to keep your water clean, whatever route you go.

Thanks y'all for all the replies. I started using uc roots at 1ml/litre (100l reservoir) 2x a week. I'm not adding beneficials. Doing water changes every 7 days.

When I rub the brown roots, my fingers sell like fresh cucumbers. Very vegetable like. I assume that's good. While the reservoir doesn't stink, it has a ever so slight musky smell to it. When I rub the air lines there is a very small amount of brown that easily comes of onto my fingers...

The color doesn't look bad but I'd be happier with much more lateral rooting. It appears to me that you have grown them but then they have died off. Your main roots can take a lot more then your lateral roots.

Your plant looks awesome and your roots look good enough. I would do some root pruning to encourage some more lateral root growth. Root pruning isn't for everyone though and can cause issues if done in the wrong enviroment.
