i was shy to post at first but here we go!
this is my second time growing weed so im still a little amateur, but i come from a gardening background so to speak haha so it all feels pretty natural anyway when it comes to caring for plants...
anyways, i live in a third world country, a group of several islands that is around -12 degrees below the equator, so many supplies for an indoor grow are hard to aquire! good growing medium and lights and different things like that, and its really hot here! haha.. but i made do with what i had around here...
seeds: there is always readily available locally grown bud here that im guessing is mostly sativa and always has some seeds in it, but some batches from the mountains are pretty good, so i held on to a bunch (literally i have hundreds haha). i was very curious to see how they would come out in an indoor grow because outdoor conditions here are very very poor, so for the bud to be good coming from such poor conditions. Also, the days here are never longer than 12-13 hours sunlight so it stresses many of the plants into hermies im sure.. if only i could improve them... haha so here is my try.
medium: i bought some local "organic soil" which turned out to be a plant killer because although it was black it turned VERY hard like clay when left to dry. i combined this black dirt with rice husks, ground down styrofoam (my ghetto perlite), and a bunch of cocopeat. the resulting mixture was mixed then baked to kill any pests that were in the dirt.
lights: i purchased 2 400 watt out door floodlights and installed 1 high pressure sodium bulb in one light and 1 Metal Halide bulb in the other. a resulting 800 watts combined. lights are on two seperate timers but are basically on for 17.5 hrs a day and 6.5 hrs off for veg cycle.
nutes: i use a 20-20-20 fertilizer (the most expensive one i could find though not any known name brand) for vegging right now. for flower when the time comes, i dont know wether i should use a "big bloom" or a "big fruit" to get the best effect.. i go very easy on the nutes because i know that it is easy to overdue it... haha which means i use about half of however much it says to use on the packaging..
water: its distilled water that is also the same water i buy to drink. i water every 2-3 days or when the pots feel light and the soil in the top layers is pretty dry..
...i know you guys will all hate me for this, but as for temps and humidity, i kinda just feel it out i dont have any way of measuring it in there as of right now.. but it feels really nice and like a nice place for a plant to grow. as for CO2, i just hang out in the room during most of the daylight hours to share the a/c and light to conserve power... i dont however sleep in there. i mostly play video games and pc because i set up a desk in the room..
the plants started in the closets of my extra room and recently transitioned to the extra room. the lights are enclosed in metal and glass as they are outdoor lights, but they are not cooled, so i run the wall unit aircon when the lights are one combined with a fan to try to circulate the heat away from the plants. it seems to be working fine. plus the plants i think are used to some heat as they come from an outdoor sativa type here that has grown accustomed to things like humidity and heat and other generally harsh conditions, while still being potent... im so very curious haha...
here is all my pictures to date. im still in vegetation right now. i have 1 industrial plant from Dinafem seeds that i am waiting to sprout so i will just keep vegging all plants until then.
