2 questions. light distance & trellis

1) My plants are about 3 weeks into veg, how far should they be from this Mars Hydro 600w? Its 120 5w LED's that supposedly produce 600 "truewatts" they've grown to be about 9" away from the lights now, is that a safe distance? or how far should they be to still have efficient light distribution?

2)I just got my trellis net in the mail today, im going to build a PVC frame tomorrow, however when should i put it over the plants? i plan on veg for another week or two before i switch to 12/12. im going to do some research on using trellis and pruning methods myself but i thought there would be no harm in asking here.

Light distance you want to place your hand on top of your plants and if it is uncomfortable it is too close. Led is supposed to be alot cooler I normally keep my cfl about 6-7 in from tops. With the net it depends on how much hight you got for your plants. Once you install the net the plant will not get any taller you will start training it sideways threw the net. When you go into flowering your buds will go up threw the net a couple inches

your "600watt" led is probably closer to 300 actual watts. probly less even.
that dont mean move it closer. yr leaves will point upwards if its to far. start high, and work it down til yr leaves look content.
