1st ever grow - soil

ok so this is my first grow ever. sorry i dont have any pics of the beginning, i started out with one of those humidity domes and peat pellets under a single 60w cfl. seeds were bag seeds of some decent reggie i stuffed like 3 seeds into each pellet and ended up with like 29 sprouts. my limit is 12 so got rid of those kept 3 that only germinated one of the seeds and put them into peat pots, a friend of mine gave me some seeds he had been saving hes an old hippie pot head and said they were some good shit. i took his word for it and did the same process over only putting one seed in each peat pellet this time i ended up with 7 out of 10 germinating. after a couple weeks moved them into peat pots, so now i had 10 little plants from 2 inches to 6 inches tall went around the house and found a few more lamps. had them all under 3 cfl lamps for about a month and then i made a grow box from rubbermaid tubs, had 4 t5 flourecent lights laying around and used them for the inside of the grow box, lined the whole inside with aluminum tape and cut some holes and added some old computer fans i had lying around for ventilation. this was all done around end of september begining of october plants grew to about a foot tall inside the grow box. then it began to start getting cold i couldnt get my temps over 65 inside the grow box. so instead of trying to flower them i focused on keeping them alive untill i could a set up a room. due to being cold they didnt grow all that much the stems were very skinny and they could hardly hold themselves up i even had to tie a few of them up just to keep them standing. about the middle of november i finally got a room set up, a friend of mine sold me a 400w hps hood and ballast and 2 bulbs for 50 bucks, so couldnt pass that up. immediately transplanted them to 2gal pots and got them under the 400 was still having cold issues so ended up getting a little heater and sealing up the room to keep it warm. i left the heater vent in the floor unsealed and opened the cooler vent in the ceiling that way cold air would draw in from the floor and heat would go out through the ceiling. this is still my only ventilation my room is still a work in progress. i raised the floor in the room about 6 inches and insulated it, its helped greatly with my cold issues im still running a heater when the light is off. this past weekend i got a 1000w digital ballast and hood hooked up and all the plants are under 1 1000w bulb. today is my second day of flowering plants are a little big but ill trim them if they end up getting too close to the light. my biggest plants are a little over 3 feet tall already and 4 of my plants i played around with lst so they dont look like there that tall in the pics but thats just cause the stems are all twisted and bent. my same friend that sold me the 400 also gave me 2 clones of "fucking incredible" which are actually at about the perfect heigth for flowering. now for some pics.

there are the plants under the 400 i know there close together but 12 plants for 1 400 is kinda a lot from what ive researched

Wish I had a friend that would sell me a 400w for $50! They look great, good job. +rep for taking the leap into farming!

these are actually my dads plants hes the card holder im just the gardener lol but i got my card last week so my limit is now 24 so my master plan is to keep 12 in veg 12 in flower at all times once these 12 are done my friends gonna give me 12 fucking incredible clones ready to flower so ill be able to harvest those about 6 weeks after i recieve them that room there growing in has a closest thats 2 feet deep 5 feet wide and 12 feet tall so i plan on using that as my veg area with the 400 and someday get some led's for the closest that way i wont have as much heat issues in the small place the room the plants are in now with the 1000w is 10x8 and the ceilings are sloped 14feet in the center of room down to 8feet at the sides roughly 700 cubic feet less actually master plan for the flower room is to have 3 600w hps and a mh bulb in my 1000w hood/ballast

some more pics found cord for the digital camera still no new pics but these are better resolution then the previous pics today is day 3 of flower long ways to go ill prolly take some new pics next week or so hopfully by then ill be able to determin sexes

this is my one of my "fucking incredible" clones the other one doesnt look as good i actually think it might be retarded the leaves are growing crooked some limbs only have like 1 or 2 leaves im not sure whats going on with it dude said he cut it from a budding plant so im thinking that may have had some negative effects on its growth these pics are the same plant one on left was under the 400w about 2 weeks ago the one on the right is from 2 days ago under the 1000w and transplanted

so it is now week 3 of flowering and like a newbie i went off a broke the main stem to one of my biggest plants 2 of the plants appear to be sativa dominate and are already pushing past 3 feet so in an attempt to bend them down and even out the canopy a little i ended up breaking one of the sativas main stem hopefully she pulls through and repairs i also ended up having 5 males so am now down to 7 females possible 6 now last tuesday i also took some clones from my plants first time ever trying to clone i took two off my fucking incredible plant decided to clone the one that was more bushy also took 4 sativa clones so i can try and lst them right from the beging it seems all 6 clones are gonna make it one i wasnt sure about for a couple days but im pretty sure shes gonna pull through ill try and get some new pics up this week

DO you find you have any issues cloning?

If you do, certainly consider cunstructing a bubble-cloner. I was having very poor success rates myself, till I stuck one of these together, now, of 14 clones taken from 4 different garden plants, ALL 14 are actually looking BETTER than they did whilst attached to the donor/parent plants.

One I made only cost me around $60 all up, and 14 clones for each box is pretty good, considering NONE look like failing.

ok here come some pics also got a new addition from the neighbor

this one is fucking incredible the one to the left of it is also same strain the rest of my plants are unknown strains seeming to be mostly indicas 2 of the plants seem to be more sativa dominant

here come the buds :D top of one of the sativas the others havnt really started to bud yet
PB191064.jpg
aint she cute this is the one the neighbor brought over she said its been growing like this for about a month now plant is about 6 inches tall and its frosty :) no idea what the strain is but its a tough little bitch shes been surviving outdoors in below freezing temps at night and daytime highs of 50 - 60 degrees as you can see 2 of the plants in there have already froze to death and i think the other plant is a petunia lol but she has a nice new warm home now
