150w HPS?

Is a 150w HPS going to be ok for like 5 babies?

I would say for a short amount of time yes. But not for flower.

How many could I get away with using a 150? Are 150w not good for flowering? This is my first grow and I am a lil confused. I started them out under some fluros, I am going to switch to 150w HPS when they are about 4" under 18/6 light schedule. Then I was gonna let them grow to about 1' then switch to 12/12 lighting. Does this sound like a good plan?

They are good for flowering but I would say for only one or two plants. A 400W will help you with 5 plants. You could add some CFLs to the mix to make up for some of your light loss to your 3 other plants. Or you could LST them all. I don't know.I'm not the smartest on lighting but I would def follow one of the 2 routes.

yeah 1 plant id say is best under a 150, ive used 70s 2 per plant and now do 5-6 under a 400 dual spec, 10 - 15 oz a plant.

What if Im going SOG? I understand 5 full size babies under a 150 isnt going to work.

you maybe able to pull off a sog with a 150 hps, but that is a pretty big maybe.. i have a 250 hps and i am just barely able to squezze three full sized plants under it and a four bulb two foot t5 setup..
i would say probably maybe three or four sog'ed plants under a 150 if they stay smaller..
