10 days old. Wants to live

Daughter planted a baggie seed she germinated in paper towels. Thinks it's ice cream man. Recycled miracle gro moisture control mix. Here's a pic after about 10 days in the pot. She's giving it 18/6 lighting. Just found out she's been using distilled water only. Tested my distilled and ph is 10. She only has strips to test fish tank water and said it's good on ph. Can only assume it's in the 6 ish range. No clue what her tap water reads. Won't be able to get it to me for another week so I can get it in the tent and hopefully give it better care. Any musings on whether this soil will suffice another week if given decent water? Looks pretty green to me but true leaves look a little saggy.

I'm not sure. An earlier pic she set me appeared to be a fluorescent or incandescent or maybe an led bulb. Not a grow light.

Bring that little light down closer. That lil' lady is stretching to find light. Once it's transplant time, bury it shoulders deep in the soil to make up for the lanky stalk.

I'd also chance the tap over the distilled too.

Thank you for the reply. I thought it looked a little lanky too when I saw that one. And she has moved it closer to the light. Hadn't heard of transplanting deeper before but thanks for the advise. I think I saw a thread above about that. I should read that too.

Update...the stretchy one is to be brought this weekend for intro to the tent. I've germinated 3 more baggie seeds and plan to plant today or tomorrow. Not sure how raising them all together will work out as the stretchy one will have about a month head start. And I do plan to re-pot it deeper

I learned a lesson by planting 3x different strains (all autos) this time. I probably won't do that again... They ended up having different types of fuss (light, nutrient strength, nutrient needs) along the way that made it a pain to diagnose and alter what I fed/watered and also keeping environment consistent. They also behaved differently (heights, etc.), now I've got one that's pretty well done but another that's just put out yet another bunch of new white pistils.

I'm going to cut and dry them in the tent, so it'll mean one will probably go too long and one will be earlier than I want and then two will be in the middle.

I'm fairly certain these will all be photos. Half hoping one will turn out male. My luck they all will. Although it's legal to grow in VA now. It's still illegal to buy seeds. Go figure. If I get a male I'm hoping I can pollinate a bud or two

Finally came the day for the stretchy one to be brought to me. To my daughter's horror her pet rat got out and had its way with the plant. She found it out of the pot when she got home from work. Put it back in and brought it here. Little on the flaccid side to say the least. Roots were at the bottom of the small pot. Moved the carcass to a 1 gal with happy frog and some mycorrhizae around the ball and a sip of 6.3 water. It's in the tent with 6 hrs left on the light. 2 other seedlings are in there too. Will have to wait and see if triage was successful. I once had about an 18" one near a river that flooded and was underwater for a couple days. When the water receded the poor thing was like a big stalk of over overcooked spaghetti. Propped it up and it recovered so who knows.

Ok this one didn't survive. The rat attack was devastating enough but I may have compounded the problem by immediately transplanting it. In hindsight I probably should have left it in the original pot until it was able to recover. Poor thing tried to eke out another leaf but ultimately gave up the ghost.
