PAR is what the plant see's, there is 6 PAR to ever watt of HPS, and 16 to as many as 50 per watt in an LED. If you can get a hole of an light meter, you can measure the PAR Light, at different distance, and around the light at different angles.

The light the plants see is PAR, a HPS has 6PAR to one watt, where LED can have as many as 16 Per watt, to as many as 50 Per watt. That is why you can get the hps much closer to the plant than you can the led.

I use a mix of 75% horse, and the other 25% I mix up a little Lime, Sand, and some Jungle Grow Organic soil, and plant straight into the mix. I have no problems at all with it, and it grows plants like this White Ruski 28 days from seed.

Just give it some more time. It takes 14 days for it to put up a good root system. After that you should be showing some faster growth. With the CFL'S you will get slow growth anyway, because there is hardly any light, just takes a little longer. Here is a picture of one I got at 14 days...

At 9 days I don't know how you can tell that they quit growing. It takes about 14 days for them to set up a root system, than they will grow from their. The CFL'S are going to take a lot more time to start growing than led or hps. Just give it some time.

I would have to disagree about your space. I would think that you would have plenty of room for 8 plants in an 64 sq ft area. I grow two in an 9 sq ft area, in 7 1/2 gal pots. Pull 12 oz on this grow.
