Really just depends on your desired hanging height and coverage. If you have high ceilings, you could run COBs at higher amperage and use the spread to your advantage. If you have low ceilings, and really want even coverage, give the strips a shot. It's up to you, it's your space.

Day 17 update! The girls are looking great. Recovering well from what I suspect was a calmag issue. They're loving the GO nutrients and their new homes. #1 is really starting to develop well, I'll top soon to keep her in line with the others. #2 sittin pretty. #3 coming along nicely...

That sounds good to me, especially if you run the 4ks a bit soft and the 3ks a little harder. I've got 5 3k and 5 5k currently, thread is in the cab section. Guess we'll see how that ends up in a couple months.

Personally, for a flowering light, I would do a mix of mostly 3000k with some 4000k added in. Though just 3000k seems to provide great results.

On a microscopic level, paste is probably better as it should fill in the little ridges and valleys in the heat sink surface better than a pad. More contact = more heat transfer. On a practical level, I find pads much easier to work with. To each their own.

Arctic is a great brand, you probably won't have a failure for many years. Just something to keep in mind is all.

Yes, they will work fine. Just remember that each COB will depend on the heat sink fan to keep it cool. Those sinks don't have the juice to cool passively. If the fan fails while you're away, temp could fry the COB.

Well, not so much. Any decent A/C unit should cool to the temp you set it at, running at night won't affect that. However, running at night will decrease the efficiency of the unit, costing you more for the same result.

4-6 of those pure uvb bulbs seems like way too much to me. Just seeing Growmau5' results with 1 or 2 of those bulbs in a much more powerful LED fixture, I wouldn't run nearly as much. No idea about the veg+uv or finishing bulbs. Try it out and post up some results!

Transplant Day! The girls were looking a little rough and out growing the little paper cups. Time to transplant! #4 was looking much worse than the other day. Lots of yellowing and curling. No bueno. However, everyone else was looking ready for a new home. #1 looking like the best...

The soil looks really dark in these photos, but I haven't watered in a few days. These little paper cups don't drain that well though... gonna transplant tonight or tomorrow so hopefully they bounce back. Any way to help the sickly one now?

Alright, as promised, it's time for an update! All 5 bagseeds germed in a water glass overnight, then in a damp paper towel for another 12 hours or so. All 5 sprouted healthy taproots, so all 5 got planted right into the Happy Frog with no amendments. Today is day 11 since the first seed...
