    Grow Journals

I see a lot of grow journals in other than the grow journal blog format on this site. What's appropriate? Seems like there is slim to no participation on the blog end so I was thinking about posting mine here. Thoughts?

    LED light intensity

He mentioned light intensity in the post so...I would think the closer the light is to the plants the more intensity and penetration you'd get but I can' see where the penetration part would be better further away when I think about it.

    LED light intensity

That's interesting and would be the opposite of what one may think..

    LED light intensity

967 is my max so...sorry not sure I understand your question. (which should surprise no one lol) I just got off the phone with @RainDan and he cleared a lot of my questions up. Very knowledgeable guy and I'm glad I bought my light from them. I think what I'm dealing with more than anything...

    LED light intensity

That's what I thought too, thanks for the confirmation...I can't think of the term for it though... Thanks!

    LED light intensity

If my light has at max power puts out, say, 967 μmol/m2/s PPFD at 18" would it be half that for 50% power? I've got a 200w light, I run it at 100w. Would that reduce the output by 50%?

    OCD

I have a camera in my box that takes stills so yeah I look, oh, 5 times during lights on everyday mostly to check on how my light is working/do I need to water. I love checking on them. I take two pics a day. Probably to much.,.. Do I have a problem?? Lol

    Great discussion folks

Not sure if this is a problem or a fortunate thing

So does anyone think that the risk of a hermie is increased with this plant?

    LED light intensity

So then the consensus is as long as I'm close to the correct numbers par wise, based on the specs from the manufacturer, and I've got even light distribution, I should just let they plants tell me if, toward the end of the daily light cycle, I need to adjust the light intensity down as they are...

    LED light intensity

Point taken. When I was growing under hid I had my environment dialed in. I've replicated everything from that space with a new box except the light so I'm learning as I go. Thanks.

    LED light intensity

Then you calculate the par with the conversion factor for the light?

    LED light intensity

Are there phone apps that are accurate? I didn't even think of that...but I wouldn't lol.

    LED light intensity

Especially because, I mean, I'm not in this to be a commercial grower. I'm just a guy looking to refine the little grow space that I've created for myself. I use 3500 80CRI. Which meter do you use?

    Scrog advice....

Depending on how much vertical room you have to play with, you may be able to get away with just lst or some other form of training. That said, they aren't in the screen now so you're fine. If they get close to the light just bend then some. Training is better early in flower than later. Nice...

    LED light intensity

Yes that's what I was thinking too but that said, measuring with a device that's inaccurate is the same as measuring with a wooden spoon right?? Lol
  18. giantsfan24

    LED light intensity

Wow, that's helpful, thank you. Sounds like this makes any conversion a bit crap shoot?
  19. giantsfan24

    LED light intensity

By repeatable you mean they provide a consistent measurement?

    LED light intensity

SPD chart? Could you provide a link please? I just googled lux to ppfd conversion but couldn't find a conversion factor for LED in a quick search. Thanks man!
