I don't think you can get decent Cree LEDs anywhere for $3 though. @Growes73 I wouldn't expect too much from these, probably ok for starting seeds or when you need a lower intensity light for clones maybe.

@ttystikk I know this was originally about reduced schedules, so do you have any experience with say a 5/3, meaning total of 15hrs light in 24. This could possibly work for the higher intensity lights.. just a thought.

I had read a few articles, (forgive me I can't remember where exactly) that stated root growth excels during dark periods. So that may be a reason to have a schedule like 18/6. Also, I think for many people it saves money having the lights out for a certain amount of time. I'm tempted to switch...

One of the most intelligent things I've seen posted on this site. So many people saying kill this living thing, while at the same time trying to benefit from the growing of another living thing..I think some people need a slight change in perspective. Still I'd remove it from the grow area...

All of the new side growth on mine seems to just be two per node now as well. I think to you'd probably have to breed a strain over many generations to get a plant that consistently produces this feature, looks like cloning won't work. And I have neither the time or experience to that right now.

After a lot of reading, COBs are the way forward when it comes to LED. I currently have a Meizhi 600w (270w actual) it's basically a viparspecta with a different name. But much cheaper and performance so far is great. Not sure what country you're in but check out these Meizhi on eBay. 300w...
