You're ignoring efficiency. An HPS bulb, brand new, is about 35% efficient. So, for each watt, 65% is dissipated in heat, the rest in light. An LED array that is 60% efficient is going to produce 60% usable light, and dissipate 40% to heat per watt. So, you're getting less heat per watt due to...
