They are M6 to fit the t-nuts made to work with this extrusion profile. The shank was a bit longer than I needed, so I also used a washer and some 1/8" aluminum bar stock to take up the extra length, as I don't have the tools to cut the bolts down to size.

I tried to like hell to source these locally, but in the end had to order them from a seller on eBay. They are exactly what I wanted for my build, and the shiny stainless steel looks sharp. When I bought them they were about $8 USD for four. I just checked and they are now selling them four for...

Pictures of your DIY lights - Post your pics!!!

Hey y'all! Here are some pics of my light, finished and hung. Just started my first grow under this light and I am already really impressed. According to the light meter in my camera, it is putting out about the same amount of light as my old (T5) setup, at about 22% of the wattage, and I don't...

    atomicData's First CXB3590 Build

All right, peeps. I finished my light a while back and have finally hung it and started a new grow. I figure now is a good time to post the final pictures for this thread. So far it works beautifully. The only thing that I might change is that I might try and mount the driver up off of the...

    Bluelab pH Pen Calibration

Thanks for your input, folks! Yeah, I had soaked the pen for 24 hours before, I always rinse between solutions, and always discard the solution after use. I think it may have a bit of an issue. Hopefully I can find the receipt!

    Bluelab pH Pen Calibration

Hello! I had been using a liquid pH test kit for years and finally decided to splurge on a pH pen. It is definitely more convenient than the drops and I am glad that I did it. I do have one question about the pH pen, though, and I am hoping that some of you with more experience can help me out...

Despite all of the lost sleep over this thing, I look forward to doing it again sometime. I love the feeling when all of the pieces of a build fall in to place and the...

Pictures of your DIY lights - Post your pics!!!

This is my first COB build, and I am very excited to be putting it into use once my current grow is all done. I have 5 x Cree CXB3590s, 36v, 3500K, CD bin COBs, driven by a Mean Well HLG-240H-C1400B.

    atomicData's First CXB3590 Build

Hi, @robincnn. I just used the 16/3 cable to get power to the rig, then solid-core 18 gauge wire to wire up the COBs. I couldn't get the Kingbrite reflectors to mount. The lip of the base of the reflectors, where the reflector attaches to the reflector adaptor, is too wide. It conflicts with...

    atomicData's First CXB3590 Build

Okay! So, I managed to finish up my build last week and I have got some pictures for you all. Here is a detail shot of the aluminum profile with the rectangular nuts inserted into the channels of the profile, waiting for a heatsink to be mounted: The fully assembled rig from the top and...

Yes indeedy, I am going to run a ground back from the frame to the junction box. Thanks for asking.

    atomicData's First CXB3590 Build

Alright! So an update from last night's work is due. The junction box and power cords are all wired up. I wanted to do something super-slick to mount the junction box and driver to, but I settled for a nice piece of 1/2" plywood. :-P Then I got the COBs mounted to the heatsinks. I am glad...

Thanks so much dudes. I feel relieved. It sounds like I probably haven't fucked up too badly. I can't wait to hook it all up. Will update with photos when I do.

    atomicData's First CXB3590 Build

Thanks for your input, @VegasWinner. I knew that it was not OK to hook up a driver to the LEDs while it was running. I wasn't aware that I shouldn't run it at all without a load on it. Maybe @robincnn, @Greengenes707 and @Growmau5 would be so kind as to weigh in on this too? I will be...

    atomicData's First CXB3590 Build

So I started my build today and got through wiring the junction box to the driver, and the AC and DC power cords and plugs But I won't be able to test everything out until tomorrow. Because of this, I decided to bust out the multimeter and see what the driver was putting out. I tested the...
