    It's only getting worse

Can you explain why some manufacturers use a buffering process on their coco? They say it is to replace sodium and potassium ions with calcium and magnesium ions so that the coco will not steal those nutrients later. To me that suggests coco is not inert.

Coco grow: Twisted leaves and brown between veins

Do you think I have a deficiency? Should I increase the nutrient concentration, or just the frequency of application? I am curious why you say I should up my feed. Thanks.

Coco grow: Twisted leaves and brown between veins

I am in day 45 of flower, and am growing in coco under an LED. I gave my plant nutrient burn about 5 weeks ago, but since then I have not given more than 400ppm of nutrients. I ph to 5.8 and water every 24-48 hours to runoff. There is only one top cola that has the browning between veins, and I...

    Weird leaf twisting. K deficient?

Which leaf "finger" do you see a bug on? The top, middle, or bottom finger in the image? Also, what type of bug i.e. caterpillar or aphid/mite/thrip?

    Weird leaf twisting. K deficient?

My plants are 5 weeks into flower (growing in coco/perlite), and I am noticing leaf twisting on a lot of small fan leaves and sugar leaves. I also noticed some brown spots on a couple large fan leaves, and leaves with other deformities (like missing lobes, missing tips, two lobes growing stuck...

    Strange leaf deformities, any ideas?

That is what I was fearing the most.

    Strange leaf deformities, any ideas?

My plants have been grown from seed indoors, and I am now about 10 weeks into the grow. Every once in a while, I notice leaf tips missing, holes in leaves, and twisting or other signs of damage. I have looked at damaged leaves and I have not seen any insect or insect faeces. I have looked under...

Have a few issues, advice needed

My runoff ppms have been lower than what I'm putting in, but I still think I had a salt buildup. I flushed it with RO water and the nutrient burn seems to have stopped progressing. Would the slight nutrient burn be the cause of the small buds? I will try watering every other day.

Have a few issues, advice needed

I am a first time grower using a coco-perlite mix under a cheap 500W LED, and I am at 29 days after switching to 12/12. During the first 3 weeks of 12/12, the plants more than doubled in height and didn't seem to be putting out many pistils. They seem to be behind in development. I am wondering...

    Deficiency or nutrient burn?

If they are behind in development, will that affect my yeild or bud quality? Or will it just take longer to flower before they are ready? The breeder suggests it has a 9 week flowering time. Also, in your opinion are they just a little behind or a lot?

    Deficiency or nutrient burn?

That's what I ended up doing yesterday. I used 150ppm solution and the runoff was measuring 270ppm. Before this, the runoff ppm's were much lower than what I was pouring in. Since these leaves are burnt, should I cut them off?

    Deficiency or nutrient burn?

So you think it is a combination of nutrient burn and a deficiency?

    Deficiency or nutrient burn?

I am growing in coco under LED light, and I'm starting my 4th week since the 1w/12 flip. Only a few leaves are exhibiting twisted tips with browning on the leaf serrations. There is also yellow tips, so I think I'm seeing nutrient burn. I was only using 500-600 ppm nutrients (450ppm of base...

    Light Burn, Nutrients, or Overwatering?

Thanks for the advice. Why do you say I'm over estimating myself? Also, are the yellow tips (of the top leaves) a common thing during the stretch? If not, what do you think is causing that?

    Light Burn, Nutrients, or Overwatering?

I measured 370ppm when using 5ml per gallon of GH CaliMagic. My meter could be way off, although it is consistent.

    Light Burn, Nutrients, or Overwatering?

For your rule of thumb, are you considering the wattage of an LED or a HPS? I imagine a 600W HPS puts off less light than a 600W LED, so your rule probably works best for one and not the other. Also, is it normal for only the very top leaves to be showing signs of nutrient burn? Only the cola...

    Light Burn, Nutrients, or Overwatering?

What do you think I should try to do? Should I lower the nutrient concentration? They started looking like this during the stretch, and I was giving them 500ppm nutrients (170ppm of CalMag).
