    Septoria Resistant Strains

I grew The Work outdoors 2 years and thanks to the drought that summer there was no septoria. Those were really special plants that got huge and were very potent. I have 2 of them , F2s, out this year and they are also doing very well against the septoria. They have the strongest aromas in the...

    Septoria Resistant Strains

I'm at 36 degrees lat. and stuff starts flowering here earlier than up north, mid July to early August is when stuff starts, generally. I harvested Salvisa in late September last year. It leans a little more to the sativa side and is respectably potent and produces well. Looking at my pollen...

    Septoria Resistant Strains

I have a friend that grows in an open field and he never has septoria and I am in the middle of woods.

    Septoria Resistant Strains

I believe septoria has only become an issue within the last 10 or so years here. I've known growers, (they were all outdoor growers), in this area for 45 years and don't recall seeing any kind of defoliation like this. Until 5 years ago when I experienced my first problems. Our summer humidity...

    Septoria Resistant Strains

Just like vegetable and fruit growing, people in Maine can grow things that won't thrive here in Oklahoma! I feel very fortunate to have found a couple of plants with resistance to septoria. And it could be the individual plants. Cannabis is nowhere nearly as consistent in strain expression as...

    Septoria Resistant Strains

I have also grown Beshear and it did almost as well against septoria. Here it is last year.

    Outdoor seedlings

They do well sprouted outdoors in the spring. Later in the summer I would be concerned about them drying out quickly in the heat.

    Septoria Resistant Strains

Another plant, the same cross as the above plant, pretty low level of infection.

    Septoria Resistant Strains

This is my worst plant in terms of infection this year and I may lose a couple of buds. Pollen chuck containing Granddaddy Purp, Blueberry, GSC, Chili Verde and Royal Kush

    Septoria Resistant Strains

I think we should document our septoria plants and give each other an idea of what we consider to be different levels of infection. I will post some pics with comments.

    2024 Massachusetts Outdoor Growers

I have 1 Salvisa and 2 Salvisa offspring from the resistant plant from last year. The 2 offspring are doing great! The Salvisa is doing pretty good. Looking at my pollen supply and trying to figure out what to cross to my resistant strains and look at next year. But at least I have a direction...

Ideas for dealing with leaf septoria

The Salvisa and the 2 Salvisa crosses from last year are doing well, despite plants next to them that are way more impacted by the disease. Cautiously optimistic about things so far.

    Cannabiscrusader's outdoor 20twenty4

Don't give up! I have had some ragged looking plants that I have gotten worthwhile harvests off of. Culling plants doesn't matter where I live because it is everywhere. Just note which ones do better against septoria and grow/breed those strains. Some plants just don't do well in specific...

    Your latest seed purchase?

I actually crossed my Puck plants with a lanky sativa male! Stoked to run some of those inside this winter.

    Cannabiscrusader's outdoor 20twenty4

Sorry for your loss! Sometimes you can race the septoria to the finish line and harvest some decent buds. I had an early finishing sativa a few summers ago that was 3/4 defoliated bud I still got 400 grams off of it. But I can understand wanting to remove those plants.

An interesting observation (to me anyway)

I would give those some support, because when those buds put on weight, a little rain and wind could break some branches.
