    NoTillPhil's 2018 Backyard Tree Mission

I just did a soil sediment test of the native soil, not the piles, and determined I'm actually in what would be considered good loamy soil. By hand and crumble test I was thinking more sand than anything but it's equal part sand and loam. Approximately 45% sand 45% loam and 10% clay. Here are...

    NoTillPhil's 2018 Backyard Tree Mission

Hi all ! I'm going to track my grow for the summer here in this thread. Not a full fledged journal but more of a follow along. This is my first legal outdoor grow so I'm excited to be able to baby my plants and tend to them daily. I'll be planting half of my six plant limit in mounds I have...

Well for starters get real seed. Second if your plants can and should be planted outside by now then quit fucking around and do it. Start eight weeks before that date next year with real seed. Your essentially listing a reason yours aren't getting bigger while thinking your getting the most...

I would think strains are mentioned in the video shared in this thread. + The interwebz has an unbelievable amount of information available.

I'm curious how many plants you put in the greenhouse when you were doing trees? It was 30 x 60 correct?

I may end up bummed. To me that's part of the game. Hail and wind are major factors here where I'm at. I'm also at 5000 ft with 10+ hrs of direct sun. I'll start my own thread and anyone that like can follow along for my failures and, hopefully, triumphs. By now you have seen other people's...

What's the interest in growing with retail store LED bulbs?

Not really. A good HPS bulb will get more like 150/lm/w It will also be a single source. Meaning, less lumens per watt is required with multiple bulbs because there is better distribution of those lumens. I know I probably drive some guys crazy constantly referencing lumens instead of PAR or...

What's the interest in growing with retail store LED bulbs?

When using LED that is getting only 120/lm/w I think pushing up the watts per square ft would be a good idea. I'm not positive but I think the 30-35 per is based on more efficient LED lights. Again, not sure on this. There is a thread on IC where PAR values can be found and compared.

These are my outdoor starts....... planting in 4-5 weeks. They are 20- 30" tall and about the same measurements for width. If I don't get 3-4lb each I'll be pretty bummed.

You should really look around the web a little more if you truly believe 4 lbs per plant is not possible. Check out MendoDopeBoys........ they have a tutorial on how they grow trees.

What's the interest in growing with retail store LED bulbs?

248 watts of screw in bulbs have been flowering a 4x2 area for me for the last few months. Much better than I would expect. I'm sure 1 gpw is very doable prob a tick more. Below was the first batch...
