the zip ties are only to get things neat and tighty and not have hoses flop around in the wind. The tubing is 1/2” mainline with 1/4” lines going to the drip emitters. The smaller tubing has a “T” fitting pressed into the mainline. It’s all part of a drip kit so that’s how it’s supposed to be...
Pretty slick setup so worth the effort. I can control watering remotely anywhere in the world with a push of a button. Can setup timers, schedules, or auto watering based on weather. Now I can go on road trips and not worry about it! lol
Weather was nice this weekend so started plumbing my drip irrigation. Had to crawl under my deck to add a spigot next to my garden bed. Just gotta get a few more things and I’ll be all set for planting very soon! Getting excited
the hoop was your basic 1/2” pvc I had laying around and the plastic was just cheap roll of clear plastic I got from tractor supply. Whole setup cost me about $20 and survived some surprisingly strong winds. Key is to leave the ends and sides open to let air pass through and not carry it away lol
orbit bhyve controller. I scored a brand new in box someone was selling for $35. I already tested it and downloaded app. Works great! Even gives you a flow rate.
Another new thing I’m going to try this year is a WiFi controlled irrigation system. I bought everything to do it last year and starting plumbing yesterday while the weather was nice. Will have a drip system in my garden bed attached to a WiFi controlled solenoid that can water on a schedule...
Couple more weeks to go :) weather has been pretty chilly lately though hopefully it’ll warm up soon. Any ideas on “mini” greenhouse domes I can put over the seedlings? I’ve never planted seeds directly in soil outdoors before always transplanted establishes clones but doing autos this year
Phew long day lol added a yard of compost, mixed in my dry amendments, watered it a bit and covered with a tarp. I’ll let that cook for about 6 weeks and I’ll be ready to plant!
