I’ve never paid that kind of attention honestly. With a lot of plants to take care of a quick check for balls regularly is the closest I look. No balls and I’m happy.
My daughter used to put those Glade things up that give timed puffs of froo froo smells. That pretty much covered up the flower room smells. Put those things everywhere except your grow area.
Use at least 20% of container volume. So 1 gallon. Or 4 liters if you are using metric. Obviously the medium needs to be fairly dry. Are you determining water needs by schedule or by weight?
Snap those plants and lay them over. Use long wire hooks to hold it down. From the air they look for the perfectly round shape and the color. If they are laying down they’re hard to spot from the ground or air.
