mulch the hell out of it to help keep moisture in , also i would put some vermiculite in to help hold in moisture ..

why not just start in 2 gal potts ? no transplant

start a compost heap or buy a tumble composter best soil u can get just add perlite cheaper than 400$ i guarantee .ive done a compleate grow with fish emulsion from lowes b4 greenlight i think it was , its cheap, smells like gack, but will do the job .

could try a short flowering mountain strain they would do well in the cool air as well , ive heard of some mountain sativa hybreds but not shure on flowering times 8 weeks maybe.
