    Outdoor camping cultivation adventure?

sounds like a pretty good cover but the likeliness of getting your grow discovered is pretty high. there isn't an island I haven't found, no matter how secluded or big/small it was where I found evidence of human traffic. islands are cool places to check out and ppl will go out of their way to...

    trail camouflage

anyone here have any tips, tricks to hiding your trails and paths? I have a few that have worked well over the past for both vehicle and foot paths. I like walking and driving in streams personally. to cover up tire tracks in dirt I usually spill a jerry can full of water over the entrance...

    what kind of soil

I grow near conifers and they don't like it. they like it slightly acidic but not that much. I bring in mix to these areas and water it with the slightly alkaline water source nearby.

Whats the best soil that i can get for growing outdoors?

I use premier pro mix and mix it up with the local sphagnum peat moss that's in the nearby bog (70/30) I get 7-8 footers with my mix, and around a pound per plant.

    Good Satellite Imaging Sites

to most ppl, floodplains are not a very exiting place to explore, pretty bland for anyone to go out of their way to see. most canoers I find wanna go down scenic gulllies, full of waterfalls, mountains and cliffs. this place you got looks like the perfect spot! the only ppl I'd watch out for...

I think i found the next location

I'd have to say this is a bad place to grow. that chimney is a POI and there's a certain breed of ppl who live for checking these types of places out, (one being me). in fact there's a whole website/database of abandoned ruins like this ppl frequent. look around for firepits. as a teenager...

    Good Satellite Imaging Sites

nice work skunk, looks like a good site! not sure where you live but I found this site useful, very detailed maps showing elevations, roads, some trails, and names of lakes. maybe there's one similar for the US: The Atlas of Canada - Toporama – Topographic Maps once you learn some of the...

    GPS Units

for affordability and versatility, I'd go for the garmin etrex legend, my friend has had this one for a couple of years, it's been submerged, dropped, walked on and still keeps a ticking.

    GPS Units

I got me a magellan, but wish I had a garmin, I'm having a hard time finding topos to download for my magellan, whereas the garmins aren't so hard. I guess I can buy the 150$ program but I'd rather get em free off torrent. either way any gps is a good investment. here's another product I...

    hauling equipment?

how's this for a growspot? 5kilometres from the nearest major road, in a small rural town, 3k down an atv trail and another 2.5k hike over a frozen marsh? I doubt anyone'll find my garden. as for transporting all this crap I do this in the wintertime with my snowshoes and a toboggan. never seen...

    google earth question

google earth is a good tool for spotting out potentials, but the only good way is to check out each potential spot out in person. and if your looking in a place where a mall can go up within a year of the outdated photos they provide on the free version, ya better look harder. oh, and google's...

    Damn trees......

sorry, I misread your post. guess you don't wan't them knocked over, just dead. I say avoid killing the trees and find a better spot

    Damn trees......

can't you just find already dead trees to knock over instead? I see plenty of em in the forest. if you look up at the trees they usually have leaves on em. if you see one without any leaves, chances are its dead. I do this all the time, by either pushing them down, or for the bigger ones, I hook...
