clones after 9 days, with pic

Just remember, the clones have been used to alot less light, alot less. So, if you're going to put your well rooted clones under a big ass HPS, make sure you have the light at least 2.5 feet (min) above the plants, to avoid shocking or fying them. . Then ease the light down just a inch or two...

How far should my MH light be away from plant ?

That's the best way to do it. I always, start a couple of feet away, and ease my 400 watt MH down. Hardens them off, without shocking them or frying them. .

Help!! my timer let my lights stay on ....

Don't chop them, don't trim the new growth, or get to freaked out by the one time lights on all day thing. It's no biggie, trust me. You'd have to leave the lights on for weeks to cause the plants to stop flowering and revert back to straight veg growth. . Or do weird out of sync, light cycles...

Going to do first ever grow ,need a few answers please.

BadFrog, Some of the Dankest strains on earth, have come from that one special bag seed. So, give it a go. . I think it's wise to start with seeds you don't have big money invested in. There is always a learning curve. . Also if you want to grow on the cheap, go to the Organics threads and look...

Going to do first ever grow ,need a few answers please.

If you want to grow plants under 2 feet, you need to start them in a 12/12 lights on / off cycle from the start, with a rich blue light spectrum. . Kushs will stretch very little as a rule. But the key here is to start the (stretch) that comes with flowering earlier, not later. Also consider...

    peat pots suck!

Germ seeds in a moist paper towel, inside a tupperware container or ziplock bag. Out of the light, where temps are a steady 70 degrees F, but not hotter than 87 degrees F. When you see a tap root, carefully place the seed in the hole (root tip down), of an already hydrated peat pellet. The peat...

Need a good recipe for outdoors +rep

Go to Lowes or Home Depot, buy 5 bags of Composted Cow Manure & Humus ($ 1.50 a bag), and one 3.8 cubic foot bag of peat moss. Mix in kiddie pool or on large tarp. Add 5 pounds of worm castings, 1/4 cup of steamed bone meal, 1/4 cup of blood meal, 1 ounce of epsom salt, & 2 small bags of...

    Human waste nutes

^^^ I totally agree. Human shit is just to full of harmful things, not worth the mess or effort, for such a low grade fert. . Those poor people are just super poor and uneducated. Just because they use it, doesn't mean it's a good thing. . People in those countries die at much younger ages from...

Vermicomposting - a thing to consider

It's pretty varible. Good stuff in, good stuff out. . Provide more vegetable matter, you'll promote worm castings with more bacteria in them. . Provide more carbon (paper, cardboard, saw dust from untreated wood) you'll promote worm castings with more fungi. . I have two bins, and feed each...

    Household organics

Eggshells provide calcium, used coffee grounds provide some nitrogen, vegetable scrapes provide trace minerals. . All of these are best composted before use. .

What is in your organic soil. (Or what should be)

This one is easy. Most soil or potting soil mixes are sterilized before being bagged. Even the big name brands. . The better quality ones like FoxFarm OF add in, micro-life after the soil cools, replacing the micro-life killed during the sterilizatoin. But let it set in cold warehouses or in...

    Largely underestimated variable

I agree water quality is very important. . These days alot of city water systems are using chloramides, which do not evaporate. These chloramides, kill micro-life and require chemical removal or a RO water filtration system, to be removed. . This is one reason I use rainwater, collected in a 50...

    Organic Companion Planting

Borage is some great stuff. I plant it in my backyard and mix MasterLow and / or Auto AK-47 (rootbound in 1.5 gallon pots, to keep them small / stealth). Each one will do a 1/2, while staying super stealth. .

what to do with soil mix

I mix mine up in a large rubbermaid also. I drilled a bunch of tiny holes in the lid, with the smallest drill bit I had. To allow some air in & CO2 out, as the soil mix cures. I turn it weekly, for three weeks to a month, & sprinkle in some chlorine free water, if it starts to look a little...
