This is my plan this year. I would like to start preserving seeds for trading/selling. It would be nice to not have to buy seeds each year. That shit gets expensive. Lol
I just ordered a bunch of pepper seeds from PDX Peppers yesterday. They were recommended on a pepper group on fb. They had some package deals with last year's seed stock so I got a 15 pack of random seeds and 3 or 4 different kinds that looked fun.
My thoughts were that I will.let them take off with the partial cup of soil and then as they get a little bigger and start thinking they are rootbound, I will add more soil to top off the cup to make it feel like it was up potted. Plus it will act like a top dress of feed.
Topped off the existing 4 planters and got the 5th clone that finally rooted into its own planter. Cleaned up the lines a little bit. I picked up a cheap set of quick connect fittings and elbows from Amazon to try out plus a valve so I can turn off the reservoir and remove it to clean it...
Baker creek is always my go to. Not the cheapest place, but a huge selection of just about everything, free and fast shipping, and I've never had issues germinating anything from them.
Mixed up a gallon of ro water tonight
2mL of calmag
5g maxibloom
3mL ph up
Ended up being 1.7ec and 5.8ph
Had to add 2c of ro water to it to get the ec back down to 1.4
Mixed up a 2nd gallon of ro water
2mL calmag
4mg maxibloom
2.5mL ph up
1.4ec 5.9ph
Yesterday morning
Almost 36 hours later
I'm fighting the urge to water these gals every day. I know that once they get a bit bigger, they will need it every day, maybe twice a day, but for now, I have to resist the call to overwater.
They are. I just got them set up the other day. So far, so good. I have no complaints yet. I am really looking forward to seeing how they do with the K.I.S.S. method with them and maxibloom.
Can you fit.em? Yeah. Is it gonna get tight? Probably. Lol. I have a blueberry cupcake going. I also have 5 clones of it as well. I've got high hopes for it.
I do have most of a quart of calmag, but its botanicare and I'm not sure if it will play nice with the blumats. I may mix up a batch of RO water, calmag and the MB and see how it does and if the plants prefer it. They do seem to be doing just fine with what I'm giving them right now though.
How much maxibloom are you guys using per gallon? I am only using 2.5mg/gal for my little clones right now, but it doesn't seem to touch the pH level in my water. I'm curious to see if I bump it up if it will lower the ph some.
