O damn so if there is runoff after a minute that means the soil stays pretty well saturated. That's about how i was watering these until this one died
How strange....
Maybe it was something in the compost in the bagged soil i was using. Gonna have to go back to mixing my own
If you read the whole thread you would see i did already mention the results of pulling the root ball the roots looked ok (dirty but basically white, wet but mot slimy) and no smell (maybe a little sweet if anything)
I been feeding AN connoisseur base, kelp extract, humic, and silica (at...
Roots were ok. No bad smells, maybe a little sweet. Only anomaly was the first inch or so of stem was peeling... They were transplanted about 3 weeks ago and i buried them a little deeper so the first couple inches of stem were buried
The part of the stem that was covered by soil was the section...
@bk78
Holy shit my dude those r some THICC colas!
Looks like 5gal pots, top free drip, drain to waste? When you feed, it's only a certain amount, not until runoff, correct?
Ya those look like some special plants.
Only thing i worry about when it looks like that is bud rot hidden inside huge...
So you use 100% coco coir? Any amendments like EWC or compost? How big are the pots and how big do you let them get before flowering?
Watering every other day seems reasonable to me (that was the schedule for my 5gal peat moss super soil pots, maybe even every 3rd day), I was surprised how...
Appreciate the comments. Ya iunno
Its a new medium im using. Usually mix my own and this thing i got premix.
Its definetly from overwatering tho, but why its only 1 outta 20+, and why so sudden, i think will be a mystery.
Stem was not chewed on but the skin (bark?) At/below the soil line was kinda peeling/loose, like it was wet for too long.
So ya, the roots definetly drowned (don't think it was rot, just saturation and drowning....)
Just surprised at the way it went down. I always thought you'd get some warning...
I have a mix of ceramic and LED. This particular planning was between a ceramic and a full spectrum COB LED (hipargero from amazon, 800w equiv).
Hmm just checked leaf temp for the plant that took her spot its 82*f and room temp is 84. Actually a bit warmer than i thought, gonna have to lower the...
Just pulled up the root ball, the roots looked ok (not great, but not slimy) and no smell
But can tell 100% that she got overwatered.
Just don't know how.... It's 5gal fabric pots w.50/50 coco/perlite mix.
And the 20 other plants that are getting the same amount of water (and everything else)...
Ya she definetly had water, the pot is still heavy with water.....
And the 4 plants around her were/are just fine, so its not heat. Not under-watered...
Maybe tomorrow rot, but still, to die overnight like that is crazy
She was all pretty and green, then, well, you see the pics......
Imma pull...
