Only question I can answer is do not use a heating mat for dwc lol you want you water temps about 65. Bad stuff likes to grow more when Rez temps get above 70-75

Well as soon as the seed pops it has leaves. Not sure if it needs the light on to emerge from the soil but I always put the light on it before it breaks the soil. Try that and see. U could've gotten some bad seeds, it happens. But turn your light on lol

They aren't too bad. Cheaper than my platinum 300. Two cxb3590s on a frame for $250. My p300 was $405 after taxes xD

It's all good lol wasn't trying to be a dick or anything, just tryin to help with the info you gave. But yea autos should not be transplanted, so your on the right track, I just wouldnt soak all your soil during watering until your root system is bigger for sure lol I've never started in a 5gal...

Who is everyone? Lol and starting them in small pots and transplanting them once or twice to bigger pots is the norm around here man. Don't know who you are talking to. Unless your plants are autos, which you mentioned nothing of in your post.

You don't need to soak the whole 5gal yet, really you shouldn't even start them in 5gal cuz it can be a bit tricky watering when they are young like yours. You don't want to soak all the soil and have problems down the road from over watering. I'd wait till they are vegging to turn your light up...
