That's a shame, but at least you got them separated quickly.
And now you know you can still salvage the bud :)
Your buds look nice tho, how about some better pics?
You shouldn't be getting material inside your collection chamber, I've seen people pack they're column with stainless steel wool before they pack the weed then put a filter over that.
I don't have a CLS so I won't comment on how to use your recovery machine to pump the butane back into your tank.
You don't need a Büchner funnel to winterize but it would certainly be nice to have because it speeds things up.
I think you need a solvent recovery pump to reclaim the butane, but you can still reuse the same amount over and over while on your material while you have it.
Try putting dry ice in your column, i use dry ice when I do my thermos soaks and it reduces the total amount of waxes that are extracted.
I think there's an extractor company that claims they're close loop system can winterize without additional solvents by using dry ice to chill the solvent...
Lol ive got a know it all attitude?
Your always talking like you have some significance around here...
The way you blew up because I said you haven't taught me anything shows how immature you are and how dearly you hold your self proclaimed title of "contributor" to the C&E.
I don't care that...
I don't grind my material when I run it so I'm not gonna comment, but with all due respect I've never learned anything from you.
Your right about that brown color in the picture but I'm thinking that's just because the picture is so dark, maybe superkush could take a better picture.
Also I'm...
I never grind my material if it hasn't been cured.
If your grinding your bud that would be the only thing I can think of that would cause chlorophyll to get leached.
Maybe next run just try and break it up by hand, your extract looks like it's full of waxes and whipping isn't gonna help it.
If...
I was trying to help you, I've already tried
Nobody said they were better or smarter than you and nobody said your trying to show anything off.
I DO look forward to you posting the results of your rediscovered method.
3 runs on the same material?
Dewaxing is when you dissolve your extract in an alcohol and place it in the freezer for 24
Hours, you will see the waxes drop out of the solution. Once that's happened you can pour the solution into a coffee filter to remove the waxes, doing this should turn your...
I don't doubt it's potent, but what most everyone is concerned with is color and consistency for whatever reason.
I would think it would have turned into shatter after that long in the vac, did you dewax it?
I'm thinking you didn't get a stable consistency because your temperatures were not consistent throughout the 48 hours you left it.
It should have been held constant at 100f-110f.
Weird that your end product is dark because you said you used fresh material... How far along was the plant, were...
I think your confused... It's much more favorable to use something that floats in a uniform layer (hexane or pentane) with the alcohol instead of something that forms an emulsification (dipentene and alcohol) and beads up making it hard to separate what you want from what you don't want.
Limonene doesn't float with alcohol like your thinking, I've already tried this and the only thing that's gonna happen is the limonene just beads up like oil in water, not only that it's a pain in the ass to purge off the limonene that isn't necessary after the extraction is done.
You will have...
It's generally recommended that if your going to whip, you do so once the extract has been purged of butane.
Whipping when it's unpurged is just going to mix up the waxes and butane and create a consistency that's very hard to purge solvent from.
