I am pulling the air from the hood. The hood is sealed with glass in between gasket. And as far as the fan not being strong enough, this is the combination of fan and filter recommended by my hydroponic shop. its the can 2600 with a 170 cfm fan.

I went and bought one of those. Thanks for the advice. Do you really think that is the problem tho?? if i have been pulling air thru the filter for about 2 months now, with that inline fan, would that mess up the filter, or should it be fine now that i have lowerd the fan power??

Its a can carbon filter. just got it about 2 months ago.

I bought a speed control a while ago. It is the kind that you have to wire to your fan. I cant figure out how to hook it up to the fan, are you familiar with how to hook these up???
