this might sound a little silly but have you considered moving the light further away to let it stretch a little? Have the nodes so close to each other and so often cant be doing it cant favours? I might be wrong.

It genuinely just could be an interior seed and you just got unlucky. It looks a little better than it did though. Only time will tell :).
