I'm a scientist. Let's setup a fund for every post arguing for or against defoliation, donate a dollar to my electric bill and I'll run the experiments.
The 8 tops are even. I removed the inner leaves to get more light to the new tops and to make it easier to train. Mostly the latter. I'll probably pull the other 4 fans tomorrow because they are getting in the way of pulling the branches around and they are so close the the coco it's making it...
@BM9AGS if you go 8 tops and tall I would put them in tomato cages to keep them from spreading out. I've had to run string around mine to keep them more narrow, but string is a hassle.
I had some fairly successful grows with that lamp. If you want to grow three plants under it keep them small, I had trouble keeping one plant well lit under the 150w.
Day 21, topped her a second time today. Looks angry, but I'm sure she will rebound by tomorrow.
It's been difficult topping and training with the CMH lamp because the node spacing is so tight.
The node spacing with this CMH lamp is making it difficult to train.
Also, after I topped it I had branches growing underneath the cotyledons, first time I've seen that.
Day 14, had a minor pH problem (probe was measuring 1.01 too low!). Recalibrated and flushed with 2.5tsp of floranova bloom and calimagic /5g. Perked right up after a few hours. Also the roots are showing through the bottom holes already in a 3.2g pot!
Thanks for the advice @Skillzd, I'll refer back to your suggestion in a few weeks. I'll probably do my first top this weekend as she is just now starting on her 5th node.
Also, I'm growing under a 315w cmh and so far the node spacing has been real tight.
Anyone ever done a hybrid manifold between nugs/nebulas methods?
I'm growing a single Northern Lights plant from seed in a 36x36 space. I had the idea to create a 32 top manifold between the two methods and place it into a 6x6 screen (36 square grid) leaving the corners empty.
The method I...
Agreed, I wanted a remote ballast and it just happens to be about $100.00 less than the sun systems. My tent peaked at 81F when it was 92F outside. I'm also not running an exhaust fan, so I've been pleased with the heat output.
