I'm certain it was starting to rot as well. One of my plant was seriously stunted by the whole affair. Might have to pull it because it just cant rebound as well as the other one..

I thought it was a low ppm as well, but as soon as i crank it past 400 the tips of leaves start to look nitrogen burnt within a day or so. Then i get worried and dilute it down with some Ph'd water to stop it. Maybe I'm not giving it a chance.
