which reflector (apollo)

Ok so Im about to get a 4x4 grow area, but Im wondering which reflector to get. Im getting a 600w apollo kit because they are relatively inexpensive and cfls wont work that well for me, but I was wondering if I should get the air cooled hood or the big umbrella reflector. Im mainly worried about heat issues with it being a 4x4 but with the big umbrella reflector it has a bigger light spread

yeah man, i grow in a 4 x 4 space with a single 600HPS and i do it barebulb vertical style in coco hempy buckets aka passive hydroponics and i use a 6" CanFan, the model with 3 speeds and i don't have any trouble with temps.

here's a couple pics of my setup to illustrate. ...and these were taken during construction so i could illustrate what i did.

anyway, you don't need any hood at all and here is a thread that explains why way better than i can.

I thought about doing a verticle grow but this will be my first real grow from start to finish so I want to keep it simple you know.

also sound is going to be priority number 1, I cant have fans that are really loud because Ill have room mates

yeah man, there is nothing simpler and more basic than vert growing, especially if you do it KISS style in coco hempy buckets, it's so easy it almost feels like cheating.

...frankly, i wish i'd discovered vertical style and coco hempy's in the beginning, it would have saved me much worry and hardship.

and you're gonna need decent quality fans man no matter which style you ultimately decide on so there WILL be fan noise, there is no way of getting around it.

...my grow space is in my bedroom and i keep that locked so it's only me who suffers the sounds of my fans, lol.

I may actually do a vert grow, it would eliminate an extra fan for the cool tube which would mean quieter and thus more ninja like and shit. Im reading up more from your link. Ive heard of growing in coco but I have no idea what it is and what it entails. Imma try to find a few articles on it and learn some

is the one u want for up top ..............i currently have 2 cooltube 600w with wings (i am looking to get this hood for myself )

if this is a a system to hang above or if u are doing a side wall tube trial that is the reflector u want .........the area of coverage is at the best u can ask for with that one

just rem if u hang it vertically that u are now sucking air from a lower point in the tent .............so u need to have a higher exhust point to remove the hotter air

If you are not worried about temps, go with the umbrella.

i probably wont do the WoW because Ill be in a tent, but I will on my next one
