HSO's Blue Dream(one plant outdoors)

I would have done a whole journel on this HSO Blue Dream girl had I realized I was actually gonna let it go outdoors...and have the weather we've had. This was from an F Seed group that I choose as my keeper/mother. I ran her indoors and took clones off of her since last spring. On a 'whim' I threw her outdoors down in some brush in a 2 gallon pot. The most I hoped for was more clones, if I got behind indoors.
A couple of weeks after the 4th of July and my parties, she was really kicking ass where she was at. I took clones, repotted her to an 8 gallon container and brought her up on my covered porch. She started showing signs of beginning flowers so I took a bunch of clones again, this time in little party cups(hempy style). All of those that I took, well, took. I figured I'd toss her out at first sign of PM, kept watering her and fast forward to today....she's still beautiful as can be, imho. Almost mid sept and tomorrow is supposed to be 90F.....here in the PNW, that will be a record, as well as the dry weather. This morning I thinned out her undergrowth and I'll get a fan out there for good air movement...and I 'll update the pics(from this past weekend) later this week--she's going nuts!
I try to not get my hopes up, knowing the PM can grab her at any time.....and I 'll toss her in a minute at the sign of it. Wish me luck.View attachment 2812856

clones from the outdoor mom ready for repotting and about a week until 12/12.....love the branching! OKAY! I am pissed!! I have tried to upload/post these all night and was going to respond to posts and I got lost in Stew's threads(the guy is busy busy for sure, lol, with tons of great stuff). Then I went to do this and have had to redo it about 4 times....using the captcha?? proof your human shit, and it freezes.....and I lose everything. That's why the hurried post here, gotta crash. Thanks, and kind of middle of the road sat/indi is why I kept this pheno. I am hoping to be able to run her to the end of oct.....I use/used Eagle 20 and cut out a bunch of the undergrowth today for better air flow.....but if PM show up I am thinking mid oct.....we shall see

I've seen more indica looking ones, hows the outdoor season going for you this year?, our season is gonna start real early this year, we have had no frosts all winter, going to run some ace and cannabiogen landrace gear. malawi is gonna be insane

I am NOT an outdoor guy at all: I believe this season could be one of the best(even stellar) on record weather wise, and if I had known......yada yada...! This is about when the rains normally hit, cooler days/nights....even going into september. I usually have one or two outside and I've only actually had a decent harvest from one; I happen to have done a journel on it here too, I think.
So what part of the world are you in, btw? You must be on the equator or close, yet you mention frost. AU? Interesting strains your running/going to run. If you do a journel on them let me know, or put a link in your sig line.

the sativa ones would have the best highs i guess, I wonder which kind of haze they used in this particular blue dream. Outdoor is the best! imo because of the natural flavours and better highs, My outdoor afghani easily doubled the potency and flavour of the hydro ones. Yeah we had a record winter in a hundred years, and last summer we had no rain for months on end. Yeah, your highs and lows are pretty crazy, any stress?. Na im all the way down in new zealand at 37 lat, can only go until may otherwise i'd grow Old timers haze/purple haze. you should run some equatorial landrace sativas next season with those kind of temperatures. Might just start a thread for southern growers as most of us have to grow guerilla so i can't do frequent updates. will let you know though. Btw your indoor pic looks dank as f*ck.

Thanks kiwi! Yeah, the indo's are turning out nice again, frosty as hell and sticky as f*&^! Idk about agreeing with you on the sat's having the best highs, imo. I guess that depends what your looking for. These still run a good 70 days or thereabouts. It's mid of the road as far as being couchy or uplifting.....you can pick that pretty well by judging the trics. As I've said, I preferred this one because of how it grows and does in my indoor, and in that as well, I 've found this to be the sweetest smelling/tasting when compared to the local strains available here.

Idk about landrace up here at 74N lat.....this year was quite unusual for sure. Most serious growers up here grow in hoop-houses and use light deprivation for a good crop, and correct finishes. In N Cali maybe........

No rain hit her either, just 75-95%RH and 60F all day today.......I have Eagle20 but not gonna use it after all. I didn't realize it was a systemic nuke.... No milk or crap like that diy shit either. Yes, thunder and lightening all day today.....cooler weather to come as well....Really NEED the Zone and Sat in the morning if I am gonna get ahead on this girl.....and I knew this would happen!

Really cool, Mohican! So what did you estimate your loss to be and how much did you end up with in that tote. What part of the country are you in, if you dont mind my asking?

I got the bitch sprayed good this afternoon. I mixed 2oz per gallon ea of DM's Zone and Penatrator. Shit cost $30 bucks ea at the hydro shop and I could have saved half that if purchased online. Apparently what was once Saturator is now Penatrator.....which caused some confusion on my part, not ever having used any DM's spendy stuff before. I am a CNS or Dyna-Gro kinda guy, ever since moving to coco-coir.
Anyway, got a fan blasting under her and will check on her in the morning. There was not much sun today either and it only got to 63F. Looks like rain for the better part of the week and showing still some 70's going into next week. The Eastern Side of the state had some frost warnings, as well as North of here too.

I am in Orange County CA about 10 miles from where OG Kush originated. Great weather for growing but the Sativa wants equator environment.

Tote was 3 lb. Way more than I expected! I didn't expect a tree. Had these also:

Haha I tripped out just then when i read that you're at 74 lat but it must be 47 . I must just be a hardcore sativa fan then because my shitty country only ever sells indica dom bud.
Is PM from moisture? never had that, only rot hence my reason for growing sativas (we get 1200 ml of rain a year) and we get about 2400 sunshine hours. When does your average season end?.
Hope it all works out for you, harvest is always stressful around this time.

I remember this unforgettable grow. Didn't think landrace sativas got rot that often. Have you heard of ace's malawi? supposed to be almost resistant to rain, I remember someone saying they survived over a 100ml a day and its reasonable for the flowering time finishing in early November for you guys.

Haha, I about tripped when you said I said that, lol!!! Yeah, must've hit the wrong key at the wrong time...and didn't even catch it.... As I think I've said, I am not much of an 'outdoor' grower, never have been and that's because of the weather mainly, albeit we only get just under 40" of rain a year. It seems to be always with high RH, and colder than everywhere else----such as Mo's area of cali where it's reasonably always warm, surely not as cold as here, nor the high humidity. They ALWAYS get more sun days/hours than us, and hey, it's cali. So I just looked it up, you had me curious, and Seattle averages 58 sunny days a year, the 7th least in the US. I believe you get a few more like five more inches? I am terrible at conversions, but have to do it with my nutes and stuff. I wouldn't even have a clue how to figure sun hours. New Zealand just sounds warmer, more tropical......and how close to AU is it anyway, without sending me to a globe, lol. I thought they were right next to each other, and AU is real big---always one place I've wanted to go too. Yeah, powdery mildew is rampant up here and it mostly from the humidity, but if you get it 'in' your indoor it's another monster and most people here pre-treat their clones/slips/ or anything new to their garden. I could give you a clone with pm and it not even showing it at all(gets in the genetics) and it could be as big of a destroyer as mites or RA, albeit that is quite rare. This is info I've read, btw, not experienced first hand, knock on wood. Bud rot is another destroyer----same reasons pretty much, buds getting wet or not drying out anyway. Like with me spraying for the Pm last night, cant get the buds so wet they don't dry, or they may very well rot. I don't believe bud rot and PM are the same thing. Somebody correct me if I am wrong on that please(Mo?). And our average season here in the PNW? That can be different for so many reasons. IMHO, I'd say for this area, your pushing your luck going past mid sept; so like right now. It depend on what your growing too. There are some local skunks that are real fighters bred here, can handle about anything up to a good freeze. And I've seen 'em pull though one or two of those. And think of the outdoor in BC Canada, albeit quick finishers, they are all very stout genetics for their climate. Okay, one more toke and I am cooked, lol, in case you cant tell Have a great night!/day!----it must be day there now, lol(it's dark here).

Damn i can see why you're not an outdoor person, Where you live only get 12 or 13 hundred sun hours a year!(google american sunshine hour map) that's a thousand less than us. If you had a glasshouse you could stretch it to maybe the first week of october as you still average 18-21 highs in september. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tauranga this is where i live, exact opposite lat as cali at 37.4 but they have tropical as f*ck weather in LA and san bernardino with way better temps than me. We get around a thousand or so millimeters(whatever that is in inches) a year so it is more favourable to grow semi tropical sativa with around 12 or 13 week flower max for our climate, some seasons more or less. we had the warmest winter this year with 15-18 degree highs. Yeah we are pretty close to australia with a couple hours flight time to sydney from auckland(our main city). northern territory in aussie can grow some monsters! search Kangativa grows at ICmag, he has some 20'+ beasts, definitely the biggest guerilla plants i have seen. Yeah na that's why I'm not really into clones aye, I would rather just start fresh from disease,spidermite or pm ridden plants they came from and just make my own selection of the phenos i like. Goddamn i hate spidermites!. If i were you bro i would invest in a 4-500 dollar(shitty nzd for me so less for you) greenhouse for your outdoor and just buy some kickass fresh seeds, then you wont have all your budrot problems and start the season with seeds as they grow 20% better(jorge cervantes opinion) and you can develop and acclimatise your own badass outdoor strains. I think pm and bud rot are different. I think you should go for some canadian genetics if you want to be safe. check out Highrise seeds, some finish at the end of august!. Check out the link from my previous post, that is definitely my alice in wonderland haha.

I think they rot because the soil does not get dry and the Sativas hate wet roots. They like it hot hot hot! A south facing wall here helps get more sun and hold the heat overnight better. My north garden is the best spot. It gets sun all day even in the winter and the wall protects from cold winds.

Here is the north garden full of mini bonsai testers (TGA gear) . Flowering so much sooner than the Sativa, which is just starting to flower!





Trying to find a good headache medicine. Most of the TGA gear is based on Sativa strains with faster flowering for the Oregon climate.

Nice little bonsais Mo, Its probably flowering later is because sativas need 13.30 hours or under to flower and indica can flower under more, My afghani's start flowering mid jan over here.
44 degrees north and to be able to pull 3lbs off a long flowering african goes to show your skills for sure. Have you heard of the Uzbekistan indica called Taskenti? It comes from a very respectable and reputable seedbank Cannabiogen. It's one of the most powerful landrace indicas apparently(i've got some seeds to grow this year), I think it would be very good headache medicine and it doesn't have the typical narcotic stone like afghani's or other indica hybrids. It also has ancient giant indica genes growing 12 ft+. some outdoor picsFrosty as hell, Im going to cross a malawi male onto a taskenti fem.
