I need some advice on drying and curing, please dont link me to the thread that shows how to cure with meters,I am in a pinch and just about to chop and this is my first time.

Tell me if this is correct, chop the stems leave some leafs on if you want; dry for (5-7 days or until its dry to touch, but not to moist sticky.)

then trim and put in jars, leave in dark cool area- and dairly open jars to allow it to burp for 15-35mins. Then reseal; roughly how long should I do this?

Idk if all that is right, but I hear you're supposed to leave it in jars for a month or two. Most people can never manage to keep it that long if it's personal use though :P

Time in jar wont be a issue, its just how long roughly in the jar should it sit & whats the best way to store it after sitting in the jar.

In order to actually cure for 5-7 days youll probably need a humidifier....or shell be bone dry in two or three days and youll never get that moisture back in her which will make for a shitty cure and it wont smell or taste great. Set the humidity around 60ish and wait 5-9 days. With the high humidity they will slow dry and the stems wont snap like if you free ball air dry so gently squeeze the buds everyday to see when they are done. Then drop it into jars and burp until its nice and dry. Done. The longer the moisture takes to leave the plant i find, the better the flavor and aroma.

Well I have a supercloset dry cab --- if I buy a humidifier, can I program it to keep it around 60?
Lets say its between 40-60% how long should I dry the bud for? 3 days?

You probably have a humidty monitor right? Get a humidifier with a know thats fully adjustable, not the ones with two settings. After the humidity builds up i run mine at almost as low as it can go to keep 60%. Usually someone has one that you know, and theyre probly not using it. Call around and say ya got dry sinuses.

You can do this for as long as you want. The slower the drying and curing, the more flavor and aroma (generally). I usually cure for about 2 weeks, so that I know that all of the moisture in the stem has wicked its way to the outside of the bud. Most people just don't have 2 weeks to cure because their crop is usually out the door already

Drying is usually 1 week and curing is usually 2 weeks (generally)

Trim all the big fan leafs with no frost. Let it hang dry for like 2-3 days. Then trim some more fan leafs. Let it dry for 2-3 days more. I hang dry anywhere between 5-7 days. Then start jar curing and burping. I keep a fan in the drying section oscillating on low. Humidifier in Florida a bad idea. Its humid as fuck as it is.

I burp about 3-5 times a day. Remember its humid as fuck here. Take it from someone that has grown down here. Here is a pic of my dry cured nugs using the method I just explained. IMG_20130525_171321.jpgIMG_20130522_192254.jpgIMG_20130107_161619.jpg

Thank you, how long should I burp each day for? Also how long do you feel is a good time to keep them in jars?

Whats the best method to store the product after done curing?

Do you mean to burp two times at least? Or at most, because I can comfortably do it once a day no problem.

Would you suggest 3-4 weeks curing to be the best results?

Also let me ask, what should I store the buds in after the cure?

You'll be fine with once a day burp 15-20 minutes is fine. Cure and store in the jar. Cure for like a month. I can't blame ya for taking samples in between.

I dont think you need to burp that long. Burping is about exchanging the air in the jar. If we are in a humid area why keep exposing the jars the humidity? I burp once a day for a matter of seconds. 30 sec maybe? Dry in a DARK and cool place. This is important. once the center of the buds are dry, prob 5-7 days in, toss them in jars. After a day or two they will be more moist or "dank" than when you put them in. Leave the jars open and rotate the buds OFTEN during this time. Once they are as dry as they were originally (keep in mind, stems need to snap, not bend)
seal the jars again. Burp every other day for the first couple weeks. I think you can go without burping for long periods of time after the first couple weeks. I know guys that dont burp but once a month. But they have really big harvests sooo..
