Summer Money, and the faster the better!

I am a full-time college student (as is my partner) and was going to use my financial aid (and probably loans) to pay my bills this summer. However, the college we go to cancelled their summer program, meaning we are completely without any source of income once June arrives. Fall courses don't begin until early September, so we need to find a way to survive until then.

Here is the issue: I have been officially unemployed for 4 years. I was mainly a caretaker for family and homemaker during that time, but still. I am working on getting new IDs since all of mine have expired, but it has been so long since I've had an official job that I've forgotten how to even fill out an application. That said:

1) What sort of places will hire a person with limited employment experience? I am knowledgeable with Microsoft 2010 if that will help me at all.
2) What should I do or say to make up for my lack of experience? Likewise is there anything I should definitely NOT say or do?
3) What sort of things can I do to make some side money while I seek more stable employment?

Any feedback I can get would mean the world to me.

It's gonna be tough, with no ID or work history theyre gonna think youre an alien (illegal and/or ET). You can sell plasma if it gets really bad.

Meh just go to any eatery and step into the dish pit if worse comes to worse. Little pay but easy money. A little money coming in is also better than no money coming in. Someone already mentioned selling plasma.

Thanks for the feedback so far! Sadly I'm already getting food stamps, and I've applied unsuccessfully for disability benefits due to my anxiety and other issues. I got turned down for disability because (ironically) I haven't worked enough to be eligible. I will try reapplying later this year. I am waiting on my replacement IDs now, I'm just looking for income in the meantime.

Yea, anyone can get a starter position at eateries or other stores. Think fast food, diners, walmarts, lowes, ect.

If you can, snag a receptionist position. Easy money most of the time. And I dont know what your location is, but if there is any type of oilfield work (office related even, receptionist / dispatch / anything) usually they get paid well.

Why not try doing leaflet distribbution I got £33 for 1000 which may sound like a lot but it isn't.

Also seasonal work like lawn mowing or clearing snow.or just maintaining garden.

You could offer help around elderly peoples home such as cleaning and I think you have a bit of experince.

I am genuinely confused as to how I am too good to start from where I currently am, or how you see this observation as viable in any way towards aiding me or anyone else towards the goal of NOT being at the bottom anymore.

From the rest of you so far: Thanks for the advice. I really appreciate it. I have gotten all my IDs replaced and secured and am drafting a new resume. I've signed up at some temp agencies and I'll be hitting regular places within this next week.

Hard work, and doing a good job are how you get off the bottom. If you're stuck at the bottom, time to
start looking at what is going on. If you do work hard and do a good job, and you're not being recognized, time to move on. Problem with temp agencies is, a lot of people go thru temp agencies to get people to do shit jobs, and the pay sucks. I don't know where you live or what your skills are, but can you not do any kind of construction work, drive a van or truck? There is good money in lawn care, and you can be your own boss. Face it, if you want to really get ahead, it is up to you. And I didn't mean anything personal by my post, but seeing your reaction to it kinda tells me why you are stuck at the bottom and can't move up.

If you're not ugly and have a seemingly good personality you can make $$$ waiting tables at places that are busy and serve alcohol. It is mostly cash so you can dodge taxes too. Places that are located near professional buildings are the best.

You're laughing because we get paid for our blood, and you get a bisquit. Bet you're not laughing as hard as me. people make 2-3 hundred dollars a month for donating a couple time a week, and it only takes about 15 minutes.

Im in the same situation. I havnt worked for 1 year but I just completed a tafe course for a pre-apprenticeship. Im in Oz. Thats a course to learn the basics of a trade before you go in. Its been 6 months since I finished the course and im still looking for a job. 2-3 years ago it was easy as hell to get a job but now...haha now, I dont get a single fuckin call for an interview. Unemployment is not fun...and it is just getting harder and harder to find a job!
