well.. 50g of trim. 3 cans of butane. was still coming out a tiny bit yellowish and barely sticky but im pretty sure its done.. wasnt much to begin with.

the result is about 2g of oil!!!! pretty disappointed. 4% return. lowest ive ever seen.

ive got enough to do eight 50g runs... thats 16g of oil that im going to get from 390g. far from my 40g estimate.. what an eye opener!
yup yuppppppppppp. 5% hurts. how is the color? how is the smell though? could be amazing stuff.

hope you got some goods twitch, hope to hear a 10% + return!
SPEAKING OF DRY MATERIAL (thread)
i was handed over about 4-5 lbs of just straight plants. smells like it was a good outdoor crop. catch is. this bag has been left out in open air for who knows how long.

i was able to just hand grab and grind the buds off the stalks. this was cool. but such crispy shit. I ended up grabbing 19.3 ounces out of the bag (ground up/de-stemmed) but my hands were no where as sticky as they should have been :[ still sticky though.

stats:

19.3 oz in
14 cans of butane.
2 cans a tube, dropped fed the material evenly in, no compressing. (usually do 3-4) I kind of have a general rule that if my cans of tane aren't punching out more than 2 grams per can.. i wont run the material any more. I pretty much broke even on that one today, and with good color. so I'll def be blowing the rest! bigggggggggggggg run in the future.

boiled off tane, weighed oil, and got 40 grams.

i think im gonna get above 32 grams final weight. 6% + return .

BUT, the color actually looks gold! not no dark stuff. that part made me excited.. :]

I dont think any butane will ever make it green.

that looks like decent oil material guzias!! I would think it would yield more than 6%.. crazy!

looks are deceiving. this stuff lacks stickiness.

no idea on wet material going green.

well. just ran 90 grams. powderized it and packed the tube tighter. it did come out a tad green.

90 grams. 3 cans. 4g return before vac purge.. 4.4% return. ouch. makes me not even want to run the rest :(

yes. I didnt think so. but yes.

if you powderize a junk, 5% yield product. then yes the butane liquid will be a hair green, but the oil will not be (mine wasnt)

if you powderize bud, a 15-20% yield product, then the butane liquid will be a delicious golden, same with the oil. not a trace of green in sight.

not too sure how you would get a whiteish oil.

do u think the grinding it up can cause it to be green?
Grinding exposes more broken leaf boundaries and you can end up with an electric green hue to your extract, but not much chlorophyll when using a non polar solvent.

You can get an almost clear colorless oil extracting early harvest Sativas, while the trichomes are still all clear, and the material is only lightly broken up.

I am going to remember that for the rest of my life...that is now on the bucket list... "grow a sativa dedicated to oil and harvest it early, run an oz of bud with 1 can and see what I get!"

thank you.

You're welcome! Cut the colas up into about 1/4" chunks while still fresh green, and load them them into a thermos, for a frozen BHO extraction. Vaccum purge, and voille!

just did my 306 gram of trim run and got 24 point something grams of wax around 8% not bad for trim

very nice output. way better than mine!!!

heres one for you guys.. ive noticed that when I use super junk weed, trim it lots, and rinse it lots. that my oil is permanently sticky... even if I put in the freezer, it becomes sticky after 5 seconds out of the freezer. it wont harden, it def wont turn to shatter (due to lack of quality im sure) even after vac purging it.

just wondering, whats with it being so sticky and is there any tricks to make it harden up? besides chop less and use less butane next time?

If you have all the solvent out of it, my guess is that your oil is partially decarboxylated and won't harden.

i had some stuff that was out door it looked good because it was purple but it didnt smoke all that great i called it porn star weed looks great but when you get to the fuck it just aint there , but when i blasted that stuff it never hardened up that was one of the only ones i didnt get to wax, then there was this other out door i am sure they sprayed something on it and that was pulled out in the extract nasty stuff

i think this is a good way to tell if you are blasting decarboxylated material:

when you initially spray the butane, spray a simple separate test batch (do this early on in spray to get a good test piece).
Take that and place it somewhere to let the butane boil off in 75F + environment. within 30-60 minutes, you should have a non sticky-plate like transparent shatter looking material.
if the test batch is sticky/runny(after plenty of time), from my experience, you arnt gonna get something easy to work with at room temp even after entire vac process..

but! if its as i described, then you should be able to make shatter at the least, and potentially wax.

ran a big batch of outdoor, been working it for a while at low heat, seems like shatter consistency, get some pics up soon, aint gonna shoot for wax though, this stuff just taking way too long.

interesting. I always thought it was due to the quality of the material used and the fact that I took a shitty material to begin with, absolutely dried and powderized it, then blasted the hell out of it... obviously wasnt aiming for quality here.

I had this happen before, and I want to say it was on a re-rinse... but im not 100% sure.
