Attempting first grow with CFL's. 2 6500K curlys. Stealth small cabinet, lined with mylar, 3" internal exhaust fan. Growing Aurora Indica. Got 3 females from 4 seeds. Started 12/12 one week ago. P4080006.jpg Just read that you should switch to a 2700-3000k cfl when flowering. Will continued use of the 6500 be detrimental to plants? I need time to find the 2700k's, thanks for any insight given. P4080001.jpgClose up of flowering bud. And I have never sprayed my plants.. I plan to use CFL's only. They look beautiful and healthy. My first ladies :)

I think you'll be fine running the 6500k bulbs untill you get the 2700k spec ones going....How many watts are each CFL you got goin right now? Also, you can mix spectrums when flowering and should have a higher ratio of 2700k bulbs vs 6500k spec bulbs in flowering (I think like 3:1 ratio of 2700k to 6500k) However...I'm doing a little experimental CFL grow right now, and I have a 1:1 ratio of 2700k to 6500k in flowering and they're doing great (about 350 watts total, you can check it out in my sig, I think my space is similar to yours!)

LOLOLOL.
Sorry man, GO BIG!!!
Get MORE CFL's!
Bhan is going good right now with his, and I just finished ONE plant in a 2x2 area with 305w of CFL's.
Hurry and get you some more of the 2700's, but don't lose the 5000k.
They don't hurt anything, and will supplement your 27's.
Remember, the CFL's really need to be within a couple inches of the leaves to be effective, and the sides give more light than the ends, so don't "point" them at the area you want to illuminate.;-)
Here's a shot of mine that I just finished, strictly CFL's and up until the last couple months, ALL MG soil, perlite and nutes.feb26pic12_zpsf32a62aa.jpg

i got my 2400k 42 watt cfls at home depot for about $10 a piece.. i actually cant find a 5000k-6500k 42w cfl to save my life i checked lowes, home depot, wal-mart, and target and every one of them only stocks 2400k (at least in my area).. but im doing the opposite of you (vegging with only 2400k) and my plants look okay so i assume it will also be okay the other way around. either way add more lights the more the merrier.. Good luck!

Here's links to the 5000k and 2700k from Lowe's that I use.

If you can get at least a 50/50 mix of the flower/ veg spectrums, you will like it-I do!
Most guys recommend a 75/ 25 mix of whatever stage you're in, but my first CFL, I did 62w of 5000k and 46w of 2700k and came out just fine.
Now I have 104w of 5000k and 52w of the 2700 and waiting to see how that will do, sometimes running another 52w of 2700k if temps permit.
