As another canadian, i would ask that you not refer to us as "ignorant cannuks". if you have had bad experience with the greenhouse, email them. and btw, i dont know about their sativas, (ive only popped super lemon haze, which was sick), but from a cash croppers point of view, if weve had no issues with their stuff, why stop using it. but i sent shawn a couple pics of my gh super, and he sent me a pic of his kaia kush. they are strait dope, i couldnt see anything wrong with either of em. im not going to say greenhouse is the best(as i havent a favorite breeder). there are many excellent breeders out there. as for bohdi, they are known to produce excellent grass. however, i dont have the hieght needed to grow thier plants. they dont have a wide enough range(something arjan has). as for his ego, that is wack. hes a great breeder, an even more EFFECTIVE buisnessman, and deffinitly adds quite a bit to the world of ganja, but that king shit is soooo stupid. and its even worse when franco calls him "king". one thing to remember is the dutch are funny charachters. it may not even be ego. it may just be a big joke to him too, who kbows(i dont care). as far as cup wins, i have this to say.
bohdi is not a participant in the high times cuo, as they are not a amsterdam coffee shop. almost all the cup competitors are coffee shops.
judging is done by a large number of cup guests who pay extra to cast their vote,(impossible to bribe 2500 judges lol)
judging is based PRIMARALY on TASTE. not high, not grow charachreistics, not color.
cup winns are cool, and my lend to making choices, but it dosent help a GROWER AT ALL. our own research is key. Thats not to say ignore cup wins, as taste and smell is a big selling point, so it may help slim down the pickings.
regardless tho, you dont win awards judged by 2000 people if you have crap.
we all have our own methods of choosing a seedbank based on why we grow. upstate, you call me a newbie, when you have no idea ive grown since i was a young kid. i choose greenhouse becuase i have had no issues with them, i find their videos, pamphlest, and other marketing tools to be useful when picking strains. They provide more details and info than any out there. if other breeders put in half the effort arjan does, i would have a even harder time choosing strains. im sorry you dont like greenhouse upstate. I do understand tho, i wont go near barneys as ive only ever heard 1 thing good about them. i dont trust derry for shit, ive never smoked any good barneys strains.
at the base of that matter, why argue seed banks. shawn knows 4 cash cropers plus himself who like em. greenhouse is good for those of us griwing for income. id love to say my mandalas are better(their high might be) but their height and branchiness, plau the slower and smaller yield are stopping me from growing strait satoris. they are awesome, but they lack certain things i need. short hieght, big yeilds. i will breed with satori, but they will not dominate my room after i crop out. ive enjoyed working with them, but sadly THEY DONT FIT THE PROFILE I NEED. we all choose based on what we need and what works.
i apreciate your sugestion about bohdi, and as much as id love to try the eithiopian highland, i dont have 10+ feet, so sadly it will have to wait. and btw, reserva privadas got a fancy name. does that mean i should drop my gh and run to them. lol whatever. i wouldny be breeding my gh if it wasntwhat i want. i dont grow bags of schwag. i know what im doing. if anyone has any useful oppinions, good or bad, share them here. we are more interested in comercials, so remember, bhutanese thimpu and nevilles haze is NOT what we care about. shourt to mid hieght. As nice as connisuer plants are, 95% are not sutible for those of is looking to earn a living.
