Shopping for Bubble Bags

I'm shopping around for a set of bubble bags and wondering if there is anything to watch out for besides the obvious like quality of stitching. I don't know why one company would charge $150 for a set of 1g bags. Are they using some fucking nasa engineered materials or just trying to price gouge an item that is "designed for cannibas"?

Will buy these cheapy ipower bags if I don't get any feedback to suggest otherwise.

Seems like a no-brainer with 40+ 5 star reviews.

btw. I regret paying for the much more expensive full 'bubbleman' kit. It was over-priced but at the time I had cash in my pocket and was too hasty. Go for it.

Yeah fuck those expensive ones.... I got the same set...it looks anyway... Got mine from grow your own...from amazon and I believe it was the same price.....the only negativity I found was the bag is mad of a PVC material....after awhile the bag starts to flake...... But 2 gs of hash is 40$ so I said fuck it....worked great for me....I'll use em for a second time here shortly....the first round got me 4gs off an oz of stems lol....just becareful not to tear your bag...be sure to dry it out well after using to avoid the flaking, I've heard to stir by hand n not use a electric mixer....which I did as well....

I got the ipower 5gal 5bag set for $32.00 & free shipping.
Used it once and ran it in my washing machine and it's sitting ready for my next run!
Turned 35g of sugar leaf into an 18g brick of COMPRESSED KIF(Not Hash!)!
The pic below was taken after the first run with the dry ice and 220 micron bag

Received the 5gal 8-bag iPower bubble bags (which are really from GrowYourOwn.com) and they look amazing. The mesh seems a bit cheap but super effective - maybe optimal for 5-10 runs but that's just a guess. The cloth quality is great. Colors are nice. Looks like the best option out there. And looking Sincerely420 's photos, I'd call that proof. Happy Hashing everyone.

I have a set of Sprung bags, a set of el-cheapos like the bags link'd earlier in the thread, and a set of Bubblebags. Yes, the Bubblebags are most expensive, but they do work best. By a mile. Sprung bags are decent enough, provided the mesh is sized correctly, but still don't deliver the same quantity/quality of product as the Bubblebags. The el-cheapos are utter garbage, a waste of time and product. As can be seen in the green mess posted earlier, that's not hash. It's ground-up plant matter mixed with a little kief.

BTW, the pics above show a commercial-grade product.

That's one way of looking at it; $38 is certainly inexpensive.

Then there's the opportunity cost: how much more hash (and better quality) could one have pulled with better equipment? If one considers the value of good hash, the price of the bags - even the most expensive - is a drop in a bucket (no pun intended). It's a sunk cost that gets recouped almost immediately and keeps producing run after run. YMMV

Haha and 5-10 runs seems about right lol. But for $30 WTF right?!
I ran it thru the wash and it actually held up lol. If you read the Amazon comments you'll see that some ppl weren't that lucky...

But in all, I spent $32 and came out with 18 grams kief bro.
More like 20 actually as I smoked a few grams before I pressed it under my bed post lol.

But with that said....I'll buy another set when I need one without a prob lol.
I only used the 220 micron bag last time, so maybe I'll try a different bag next time and give the 220 some recouping time...You do get 5 different bags after all lol.

Happy hashing homie!

And VERY NICE Simon!

Where'd all that brown come from bro? A cure?
Of did you use regular ice rather than dry ice?
Nevertheless, marvelous job boss :joint:

Hash can take on many shades: tan, red, brown, even black with some work, but ...not green. Regular, water-based ice from the supermarket. This isn't rocket science. lol

Below is a pic of dry [first] sift for comparison:

Yeah then that might be why..

I used dry ice and only the 220 micron bag. Not the set.
And I lived in Holland for almost a year and a half lol. You're not gonna tell me hash isn't green lol so fuggedaboutit!

And I just re-read your post and saw what you were saying and referring to the "el cheapos or ipower bags".

Spending $32.00 one time will get you where you need to be. I can buy a new set of bags after ever run if I need too and not sweat it....

Just putting that out there for anyone that might be turned off lol

There's always stuff that some call hash.

Sorry, did you read my comments? It's not the price of the bags; it's the cost of what you lose by not using a better tool. Don't get me wrong. It's not like I personally care about what you do. My post was meant for the benefit of others. You want to smoke ground leaf? Fine with me. Want to refer to it as hash? Okey-dokey. Just make sure that you stay away from the real thing.

Just putting that out there for anyone that might be turned off lol
Because, someone with zero experience doing this can help? You lost me here.

Edit: At the very least, folks may want to try Sprung Bags. They're fairly inexpensive and they do work. I mentioned needing the right size mesh, as the bags do have QC issues - at least they did when I bought mine several years ago - and don't always feature the correct mesh (relative to a given bag). This being said, even with the wrong mesh they produce a night and day difference in the quantity and quality of the finished product compared to the el-cheapos.

dude those bags are a piece of Chinese made SHIT. If you going to invest in bubble bags, Yes it is an investment if you get the real thing YOU will not be disappointed. ipower is the a cheap ass knock off of the Bubblebag Brand.

http://store.bubblebag.com/xcart/Bubble-Bags-Kits/
http://boldtbags.com/shop/boldtbags/

I had orginal bubble bags last me 5+ years, until I poked a fucking stem through the mesh like an idiot.

If you are going to spend the money for the cheap knock off, might as well wait to get the real deal because your just going to have to end up buying another set after those fail.
