Best strains to replace painkillers. Creativity, Focus, Clear thinking, Energy, relax

Hello folks.. I am new here and also to growing. I live in a non medical state so I don't have the luxury to try or get prescribed. lost connections too.

Don't want to make this too long, but in a nutshell..
I have been on prescribed oxys for 4 yrs due to back issues and chronic pain, but I am fed up with all the side effects and want to quit poisoning myself with these chemicals. I am not new to smoking and would like to get back into it to help me cope with my pain and phasing the pills TO ZERO.

I have been looking at leafly for strain descriptions and it seems to me that almost all help with pain, but I wanted to ask for advise and fine tuning it to 3 or 4 strains. Please help?

I need to find strains that will:

1) not be too complicated for a first time grower who plans on having a DR40 secret jardin tent and a 150w HID in a hydroponic system.

2) Day time strain must give me: pain relief (back pain and fibro type of pain), give me energy or at least not make me tired, keep my mind "clear and fast" to be able focus on work. Need to be active and productive while controlling my pain.

3) Evening strain that would be a little stronger for pain relief (my pain gets worse as the day goes by), good for relaxing, but not heavy body or that makes you too tired. I don't enjoy those that make you feel so stoned you can't even move or feel like only want a couch. This would be a good strain to wind down.

4) The creative strain. If there is a particular strain that promotes creativity I would dig it to write music and enjoy playing. I am a guitar player and play music that requires precision and good technique, so I want to avoid a strain that makes you sloppy or less accurate while playing or heavy body.

I am planning on ordering from attitude since they sell singles and also will be running a nice special in a couple of days.

anyways, I'd appreciate some feedback and suggestions to help me narrow this down to at least 3 strains I can grow and have for my personal use.

Peace!

My grown daughter and I are both spine patients. We both really liked World of Seedss.White Rhino X Mazar. Excellent smoke for pain and relaxation in the evening. Can be heavy if you overindulge.

my pain issues are a smaller part of my needs, but like yourself, i'm not looking for a a disabling high
i will pass on some of the usual recommends for pain, but that's just from seeing them posted many times
black domina comes up a lot, sensi star quite a bit, herijuana of ten mentioned
i will pass on one that i did find to have some pretty good pain killing
brainwreck is carried by a few breeders, it wasn't disabling at all, was pleasantly surprised

thanks guys... I am looking into your recommendations..
I have also found one called Sour Diesel that seems to be good for daytime, but I can't find one that is pure sativa or if the hybrid is still good and not gonna make me tired. Also, for the evening Granddaddy Purple.

If anyone has more recommendations based on my original post I'd appreciate it. Gotta be ready to buy in 3 days for the promo!

I would suggest trying CBD CREW (not CBD Seeds). They are a joint venture with Mr. Nice seeds and focus on bringing out high CBD for medicinal purposes.

I can't really recommend good strains for pain but want to say you're on the right track for getting off the oxys. I had back surgery a few years ago and the weed got me off the oxys in month. It was easy. I cut my doses in half to begin with since pot and opiates go together like peas and carrots. The rest is easy, you can drop opiates like a hot rock as long as you have cannabis.

I would recommend Kali Mist as a daytime/clear headed smoke. It is the closest thing to an opiate type high that you will find, imo. You may also find that something like Cannatonic (high CBD) is good as well as it will not get you stoned, but will offer some good pain relief.

Best of luck

Opiate, daytime/clearheaded? I don't think I've ever thought of those being related traits. I was gonna say try a few different indica/sativa hybrids. Pure indica will tend to put you to sleep or leave you too stoned. Pure sativas you'll have energy but sacrifice ease of growth and flower time. Also remember that when you first get a new strain it will hit you harder so likely something that gets you just a little too high will end up being just right after you've had it a while.

"Opiate, daytime/clearheaded?"

Yes, there is a certain euphoric buzz that opiates deliver, and the closest thing to that in the marijuana world that I have found is Kali Mist. A similar euphoric feeling, while allowing you to function and not be stoned (remain clear headed).

I used to get a ton of shit done while on opiates because everything was enjoyable while I was high. Opiates are not dick-in-the-dirt stuff for people that take them regularly.

I don't know if it's available in the US, but for #3&4, Power Plant.

Good luck.

For what its worth, the original breeder of Herijuana Steve Tuck suffered (or still does) from chronic back pain from a spinal injury, and he bred that strain specifically to deal with it.

IIRC, he also had opiate addiction problems stemming in part from chronic use to deal with pain.

Anyway, that's a good strain to try specifically to replace opiates.

Sannie has these beans in stock now, and at only about $40 a pack, they're a bargain.

Thanks all...for the good recommendations and good wishes! I am looking into all of them.

I am very curious about the CBD, very good tip on this subject. I have read up what it's all about and have narrow down the day time strain to the CBD Yummy which is the most sativa dominant at 70/30 CBDCREW has to offer. I found it for $40 at the attitude bank.
I was also curious about CBD's Skunk Haze which is hybrid too at 50/50 and has the most CBD content and THC of all their strains, but it is out of stock everywhere I checked! That could have been good to check out for day time use as well. If you find it available, please let me know.

I am on to something here, thanks for your suggestions!!

hes definately right. as a person thats done them for a while i dont even consider them a downer. They actually give me energy because i feel much better then i normally would.

thats not the first time ive heard that comparison to kali mist either man its a bitch to grow out but it sounds promising to you and me both. sorry to thread jack but sense its on topic stow, what would you say the differences are between the two? or i guess just how similar are they? closer to vics or oxys?

GDP and Black Domina are good indica doms. I find the GDP has a fair bit of sativa. They are not debilitating in moderate doses, but are strong and will rock you if you keep on toking. I can play guitar just fine on them. I know nothing of opiates so no idea which strain is a good match.

I run a DR60 with 265 watts of different lights. I would go with this tent as a minimum with at least 250 watts of light. The sides of the tent suck in if you are running a fan and scrubber, so you lose an inch or two on each side.

Northern Lights is another one you may like. I just got a great pheno from a Nirvana fem NL.
